Hathaway president of conservation district
Seward Township dairy farmer, Perry Hathaway, was elected chairman of the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District at the February business meeting. Hathaway follows Myron Metzger, of Metzger Farms in Jackson Township, who has led the local SWCD for the past 17 years. Metzger elected not to rim for the position again. Other officers included Robert Norris, Vice chairman; and Marguerite Hoerr, secretarytreasurer. Metzger has served as an SWCD board member since 1959 He was elected chairman in February? 1965 and will continue to serve as a board member of the five-man board of supervisors Also on the agenda for the meeting was a soil survey status report from Larry Staley, sal scientist He reported that there
