Syracuse, is in its 24th year as a manufacturer. broker for custom built cabinets The business, under the direction of Bill Beemer, president, has continued to prosper even in today 's tight economy situation Beemer's salesmen call on dealers, who in turn sell the product to consumers The firm does not sell direct to consumers Additional lines have been added to compensate for the revenue lost due to the drop in new housing starts. The company president stated that 96 per cent of their business comes from remodeling of residents rather than new construction. Two new lines are now part of Beemer's products. Caravelle is a lowcost line in oak. available in six finishes, designed for the do-it-yourself market and manufactured in Chicago. 111. Another new line is Gleason, a laminate plastic manufactured in Scranton. Pa. Gleason is a custom designed material with European styling to be used on cabinets ,The firm has four branch offices located in Lansing, Mich ; Clarksville. River Grove and El Paso, 111. There are a total of four salesmen to cover 112 outlets in a three-state area Bill Beemer does not feel that the firm has been affected badly by the drop in economy, stating that there was a 12 per cent increase in sales in 1981 over 1980 The company president believes that building will pick up in the next nine months. He says he will be going to more show's this year than previously Beemer shows their product at fairs and open houses. They also hold an average of three kitchen clinics per month, as an aid to consumers The office employs two fulltime oifice women, Sylvia Garget I.
