Mrs. Chamberlin becomes bride of A.R. Graff Katherine C. Chamberlin of Fort Wayne became the bride of Albert R. Graff of Milford during a candlelight ceremony held on Saturday. Nov. 14, in which only the immediate families, children and great-grandchildren of the couple, attended. Rev. Otto Beer officated the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her youngest son, Kedric J. Chamberlin of Chicago, wore a putty colored suit of ultra-suede with a lightning blue blouse. Attending the bride was Joan Short, her daughter, of Rochester. Mich. Gary Graff of Fort Wayne served his father as best man The couple plan to honeymoon in Panama over the Christmas and New Year holidays, leaving on December 16 and returning on January 11 Helping Hands install officers The November meeting of the Milford Helping Hands 4-H Club was held at Rhonda Wilson's home on Thursday, Nov. 19. The pledges to the flags were led by Danelle Schwab and Stacey Schieler. Members answered the roll call by telling of their Thanksgiving plans During the meeting a candlelight ceremony for the installation of the new officers was held. Demonstrations on “Hot Chocolate” and “First Aid" were given by Rhonda Wilson and by Kristina Lange on “How to Polish Shoes.” Refreshments were served by the hostess. Miss Wilson. Melinda Marie Tom. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett E. Tom. Jr., of r 2 Leesburg, became the bride of Russell Paul Woda. son of Mrs. Doris Woda of Powhatan Point, Ohio, during a ceremony held on Saturday. Nov. 21. at 4 p.m. in the Living Gospel Church of Nappanee with Rev. Otto Beer. Jr.. pastor of the church, and Dan Snively. dean of students at Grace College in Winona Lake, assisting.
A musical presentation, beginning at 3:30 pm., preceded the double-ring ceremony which 350 guests attended. The altar was decorated with candelabras and greenery, and a unity candle that was accented with silk flowers in the bride’s colors of mauve, teaberry, and grape. Mr. and Mrs Rick Meads and Lori Caldron of Grace College in Winona Lake gave a musical presentation that included the following selections. “A Time For Joy,’’ “Sunrise, Sunset.” "Can It Be.” “That’s the Way,” “Make Us One,” "Take My Life,” “’Woman,” "Man That I Love,” “Rusty’s Song” and "Happy Family.” Rita Elliott of New Paris served as organist The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown styled with a stand-up lace collar, a high waistline, made of reembroidered net over taffeta that featured seed pearls and sequins on the bodice. The back had layers of pleated tulle and reembroidered net. ending in a chapel train. They wore gowns that matched the matron of honor's and each carried an Oriental umbrella Kassi Tom of Leesburg, the bride’s niece, was the flower girl and Curtis Ingold of Powhatan Point, the bride’s cousin, was the ringbearer The best man was Dan Heiser of Winona Lake. Ushers for the event were Jeff Woda of Powhatan Point: Mike Boze of Winona Lake; Clayton Bjurstrom of Elkhart; Kip Tom of Leesburg, brother of the bride; and Scott Thompson of Bremen The bride’s mother wore a floor-length gown of georgette in teaberry color that featured front and back yokes, a standing collar, and a tucked self belt with tie ends. The mother of the bridegroom wore a deep purple satin, floor-length gown featuring a ruffle at the neck. Both mothers wore a white orchid corsage. Mr. and Mrs Kevin Huggins of Warsaw served as host and hostess for the wedding. Chris Simons of Clarksburg. W. Va., cousin of the bridegroom, presided over the wedding guestbook. Programs for the wedding were under the direction of Michele Gehrke and Deb Schalow, both Grace College students of Winona Lake. A reception followed the wedding ceremony held at the Apostolic Church fellowship hall of Milford under the charge of Mrs. Bertha Grafton of New Paris. The hall was decorated in an Oriental theme Servers were Sharon Cooper, Ginger Schneider, and Mindy Frandno, all students at Grace College Following the honeymoon, the couple will reside in Muncie. The bride is a 1976 graduate of Wawasee High School, a 1977 graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute, and a 1981 graduate of Grace College She is employed at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie as a registered nurse. The bridegroom is a 1977 graduate of River High School in Hannibal, Ohio; a 1981 graduate of Grace College; and is presently a graduate assistant with the department of physiology at Ball State University working towards his master of arts degree for one year prior to entering medical school.

A special exercise class for ladies is being held in the Milford Christian Church Christian Activities Center every Monday. Wednesday and Friday from 8-9 a m The classes are open to the public and there is no charge During the hour long class women can exercise to music and the classes are lead by Mrs. David (Harriette) Drummond and Mrs. Jack (Mary Jo) Beck The classes began November Waterless rice Cook perfect rice by putting the rice in a colander, fill a pot with water and put the colander on top, then let the water boil for 20 minutes
