Cora Hossinger June 28.1889— Nov. IT, 1981 Cora M. Hossinger. 92. Cromwell, died Friday, Nov. 13, at Strawberry Village Nursing Home, Ligonier. Mrs. Hossinger was born January 28, 1889, in Albion. She married John B. Hossinger on February 3, 1906, in Albion He preceded her in death in 1949. Mrs. Hossinger was a store clerk in Albion and was a member of the Cromwell Pythian Sisters. Surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Stanley (Helen) Johnson. Cromwell; four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren Services were held Sunday. Nov. 15, at the Orr Funeral Home, Ligonier. - with Gene Martin of the Calvary Lutheran Church officiating. Burial followed in the Christian Chapel cemetery. Merriam. Laura Wuthrich Oct. 2.1894 — Nov. 12.1981 Mrs Peter (Laura) Wuthnch, 87, of r 2 Milford died Thursday. Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. following an extended illness She was in the home of her daughter. Mrs James (Irene) Sumpter of Milford where she had been residing Born in Tremont. 11l . on October 2. 1894, she was the daughter of Fred and Barbara Graff She moved to Milford in 1912 On December 20; 1917. she was united in marriage to Peter Wuthrich, who preceded her in death July 11,1957 Mrs Wuthnch was a member of the Milford Apostolic Church Survivors in addition to her daughter. New Paris, Mrs. Mary Gerber, Miss Edna Graff and Mrs. Tillie Kassbaum. all of Goshen; three brothers, Oscar Graff and Albert Graff, both of Milford, and Everett Graff of Syracuse. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 12:30 p.m. in the Milford Apostolic Church with ministers of the church presiding. Burial followed in the Milford cemetery. Nev,, son of Wilma (Bunger) Howk, 14091 CR 50 Syracuse, died Monday. Nov. 16. Death came in the Goshen Hospital where he was admitted Saturday. He became ill in the home of his mother, having been in the area for one week He had been in failing health for 10 years. He was born June 16. 1922. in Kosciusko County. On June 26. 1953. he married June Smith. She died on June 26.1980 The deceased was a 1940 graduate of Goshen High School and a veteran of World War 11. serving in the air corps He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Lincoln, and the Stroke Club of Lincoln He retired in 1972 as a sales representative of Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. because of poor health. Surviving with the mother are a daughter. Mrs. Todd (Janet) Peterson, Lincoln, a son. David, Lincoln, two grandchildren; and a brother. Hilary (“Buzz") Bunger. Mich He had been failing in health for 14 years Kuhn was bom on August 7. 1919, in Elkhart to Dr B F. and Celia (Smith) Kuhn In 1969 he married Ixns Plummer. She survives A Purdue University graduate, he was an engineer Kuhn was a veteran of World War 11, a member of the Delta Epsilon Fraternity; Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne; American Legion in North Webster and Battle Creek and the Battle Creek Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mich Carl Helman, Sr. March 18,1996 — Nov. 12.1981 Carl H. Helman. Sr.. 75, of New Paris, died at 3:11 p.m on Thursday, Nov. 12. in Goshen Hospital where he was admitted on October 3 He had been ill since April. Helman was a barber for many years in the Milford and New Paris areas and a truck driver for New Paris Creamery for 13 years. He retired October 5,1976. as owner-operator of Rohrer Furniture in New Pans He was a member of the First Brethren Church of New Pans and for more than 40 sears served on the New Paris Volunteer Fire Department He also was the fire chief and one of the original group that formed the Jackson Township volunteer ambulance service. Born on March 18, 1906, in Elkhart, he was the son of William and Rosa Ellen ‘Shue) Helman He was united in marriage on January 27, 1927. to Dorothy M Hall. Bom July 2, 1916. in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Jessie and Effie (Wogoman) Streiby. She married Vernon V. Davis on February 14. 1933. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1977. She moved to Goshen from New Paris 25 years ago. Survivors include six daughters, Evelyn Brown and Mrs. Wayne (Rowena) Warble, both of Elkhart. Shelby Moore, Ruby Mettert and Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Nusbaum. all of Goshen, and Mrs Aubry (Bessie) Wiseman of Fort McCoy, Fla.; two other sons. Norman of Goshen, and Nelson of Mishawaka; 30 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. A brother, Dallas, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held on Thursday. On July 15, 1961, she married Glenn Shaffer He survives. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Merl (Nadena) Laughlin. Syracuse and Mrs. Keith (Norma) Hollar, Goshen; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Keith (Bonita) Pershing. Claypool, Sally Brockmeyer, Fort Wayne and Mrs. Roy (Margaret) La Valley, LaJolla, Calif.; a stepson, DeLoss Shaffer, Millersburg; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a halfsister, Mrs. Homer (Mabel) Bachtel, Syracuse. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., today (Wednesday) in the Blocker-Harris Fifth Street Chapel, Goshen. Rev. WINDOW BROKEN WITH ROCK — A large rock, weighing several pounds, was apparently u thrown through a plate glass window at the Syracuse office of the Northern Indiana Public Service Company, at 105 East Main Street, Syracuse, sometime between 2 and 4 a.m. Saturday morning. According to NIPSCo manager Jay Peffley, police checked the area prior to 2 a.m. and failed to see any damage at the NIPSCo office. Police officers are checking a number of possible leads of discontent customers of the utility in an effort to afix responsibility for the act.

ROSE CALBECK TO CHICAGO Rose Calbeck of Syracuse, who was admitted on August 3 to the Elkhart Hospital suffering from the Gull ian-Bar res Syndrom, a disease which causes total paralysis, has been transferred to the Rehabilitation Institute in Chicago. 111., on November 2 Miss Calbeck is expected to remain in the rehabilitation center for three months for extensive physical therapy She is allowed visitors, preferably on the week end. and those wishing to make the trip should contact her mother, Mrs. Everett (Leona) Calbeck of Ligonier.
