Mrs. Bemish returns from Arizona Mrs. Howard Bemish. Sr., has just returned home from a fourweek trip to Chandler. \ Ariz., where she visited with her son. Mr. and Mrs John Bemish and family. She attended the high school graduation of her granddaughter, Melissa Bemish According to Mrs. Bemish. “It was the prettiest graduation of any kindlhat I have ever seen It was held at night on the football field with special lighting effects and music it was just beautiful. " Mrs Bemish also attended several baseball games, went out to eat and went shopping at Mesa. Ariz. Asked about the weather Mrs. Bemish said. "For several days it was 117 degrees and that’s too hot. The average temperature the whole time I was there was 105 to 108 degrees We went out to

So far this year the girls have won five games and lost one. In the Girls' Major League games the Reds beat the Greens 15 to 13 with Plumb hitting a grand slam. Tina Eastman went four for four and Brower went three for four. There was plenty of action and a game well played when the Reds succumbed to the Blues with a score of eight to nine. In Girls Minor League play it was the Orange team 16 and the Reds 12 The Yellow team won over the Reds two to zip. Chris Conkling hit a home run on July second when the Tigers defeated the Yankees 13 to 6. The Cubs downed the Mets 4 to 1. All four teams are in the Boys Minor League. Dan and Stacy List injured when thrown from truck

Dan List. 23 and Stacy List, 24. both of 16 North Shore Drive. Syracuse, are in fair condition at Goshen Hospital following a onevehicle accident, Saturday morning. July 4, at2a m. , List suffered a laceration to the back and underwent surgery Saturday for the laceration which cut several muscles in his back. His wife. Stacy, sustained a broken jaw and underwent surgery Monday morning to have her jaw wired shut. She also suffered a bruised or broken pelvis and numerous stitches and other lacerations. CariMyrick attends seminar Syracuse Town Board President Carl L. Myrick joined Northern Indiana public officials in a one-day seminar on federal grant programs on June 30 in South Bend. Sponsored by the Indiana Academy in the Public Service, the seminar provided public officials with a better understanding of federal programs. “Understanding Federal Grant Programs” is one of 10 APS seminars offered regionally in Indiana to local and state elected officials. Covering a range of topics fundamental to local government, the courses are designed to improve public administration at the dty, town and county levels. DAN LIST TRUCK IN FOURTH OF JULY ACCIDENT

The accident occurred on the Kosciusko-Elkhart County Line Road, five miles northeast of Syracuse. State police reports stated Last was westbound on the County Line Road when he lost control of the 1974 Ford truck, it went off the road way and rolled over several times, throwing the occupants out. They were transported to the hospital by the Milford Emergency Medical Service as the Syracuse EMS was responding to another call. A report of the cards and flowers committee was given by Mary Altman. Roll call was answered by 14 members. , A carry-in dinner was served at noon. Tables were decorated with bouquets of fresh flowers. During the afternoon, “Brain tester” contests were enjoyed. Homemade candy was served. Hostesses for the day were Sadie Reynolds and Margaret Welker. Goldie Hunnicutt and Mrs. Altman will be co-chairmen for the August 5 meeting.

The other auto, driven by Susan Naab, 18, 186 North Shore Dr., Syracuse, was struck by the Schmeltz vehicle as she swerved to avoid the collision.
