ERMA MATHEWS BREAKS WRIST Erma Mathew’s of Milford underwent surgery at 2 p.m on Tuesday. June 2, in Goshen Hospital to correct a broken wrist that was the result of an accident that occurred Tuesday morning, when she fell from a step stool at Schwartz’s Coffee Shop, where she is employed. 'Bud' Replogle passes away following lengthy illness
July 9. 1925 —June 2. 1981 Oliver (“Bud”) Reptogle. 55. of Milford died at 8:40 am. on Tuesday. June 2. in the Elkhart Hospital, following an extended illness. He was born in Milford on July 9. 1925, to Delbert and Myrtle Hampton) t ßeplogle. He was united in marriage to Annabelle Doty on September 28.1947 He was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Milford Elementary School and at one time operated Milford Appliance Service. He also served as a school bus driver for Milford and was active in youth athletic activities in the community. He was a member of the Milford Volunteer Fire Department, a veteran of World War 11, a member of the American Legion Post 226 in Milford and a member of the Masonic Lodge 418 F&AM. also in Milford. Survivors including his widow. Annabelle, are three sisters. Mrs. Thomas (Marion) Loosmore of Denver. Colo.. Mrs Max (Patricia) Newcomer of Nappanee, and Mrs. Gilbert (Sandra) Hawkins of Milford; and one brother. John Replogle of Syracuse. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Services will be Thursday, June 4. at 2:30 p m. at the Bethel Church of the Brethren in Milford with Rev. Roger Eberly; pastor of the church, officiating. Saturday. May 30, in the Lutheran Hospital. Fort Wayne. She had been ill for 14 months with leukemia Miss Fraser was the granddaughter of Elizabeth Gibson of Leesburg. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, she was bom in Prestonsburg. Ky.. on January 5.1963, to Claude Frazier. Jr. and Mary Ann (Gibson) Frazier. A 1981 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, she played basketball for two and one-half years, playing a reserve role on the 1980 team that went unbeaten during the regular season before losing in the semistate, and was on the volleyball team three years. She was also an avid softball enthusiast, playing on three different teams last summer, including the Warsaw All Stars in a traveling league. In addition to her grandmother, survivors are her parents, Mr and Mrs. Claude Frazier of Warsaw; one brother, Elbert Eugene Frazier of Warsaw; one sister, Nancy Jane, at home; one other grandmother. She was bom April 13, 1884, in the Solomon Creek area of Elkhart County to Thomas and Malinda (Ackerman) Hapner She married Harry C. Groves in 1908. He preceded her in death in 1939. She was a former member of the Syracuse Methodist Church She resided in Saint Petersburg, Fla., for 25 years and at Greencroft since 1975. One son. Elbert Groves, of Goshen is the sole survivor. Funeral services were held today. (Wednesday) in the Harris Funeral Syracuse. Rev Fuhrman Miller, pastor of Goshen's First United Methodist Church, officiated. She was transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room. On Friday, May 29, a Milford woman, suffering chest pains, was transported to the Goshen Hospital emergency room. A woman fainted and suffered a laceration on her tongue Saturday, May 30. She was transported to Elkhart Hospital emergency room. A patient was transported to Lakeland Loving Care Center Sunday. May 31. On Monday, June 1. a woman with a heart problem was transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room. A patient was transported from Kosciusko Community Hospital to Lakeland Loving Care Center. An employee at Serenade Foods suffered severe back pain when he lifted a skid and was transported to Goshen Hospital emergency room.

Leon Babb drowns at Tippecanoe Leon C. Babb. 62, Daleville, was found dead in approximately three feet of water at 8:25 a.m. Friday. May 29. at the southeast side of Tippecanoe Lake near Plaza Marina formerly Cooper’s Marina). Officials at the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Kosciusko, County Coroner Gary Eastlund have announced the cause of death as drowning. Neighbors said Babb was fishing at approximately 9 p.m. Thursday. May 28. Police speculate that he fell off a seawall into the water. Police have ruled out foul play in the drowning The body was discovered Friday morning by John Warner, manager of the marina. It was later removed to Harris Funeral Home in Syracuse.
