£ Herbert Metzger Oct. 13.1915—May 9.1981 Herbert D. Metzger. 65, 613 S Third St.. Goshen, died at 2:35 a m. May 9 in Elkhart Hospital. He was a patient there since May 2. ill since last October. He was bom October 13.1915. at Goshen He worked 31 years for Sam Kosnoff and Sons, living in Goshen all his life. He married Lucille Burk on October 27. 1934. She survives. He was a member of Saint John's Catholic Church and World War 11 veteran, serving in the Navy. Surviving with his wife are six daughters. Mrs Arnold (Sandra* Chnstner. Centreville. Mich.. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Business and Professional Women's dub, and Ladies of the Round Table, Senior Mothers Club all of Syracuse. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Caroline) Barnett, Rochester; three sons. Stanley, Goshen, Lee °outhßend and Lowell, of Augusta Ga.; nine grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren and one brother, Ralph, Huntington. The funeral service will be today. Lillie Williams March 26, 1960 — May 10,1981 Lillie Williams, 81, of Claypool, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 10, in her home after an illness of the past three years. She was born on March 26.1900, in Floyd County, Ky., to John and Liza (Damron) Hall. She was united in marriage to Emery Williams on August* 18, 1920. He preceded her in death in May of 1967. The deceased was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons. Ivory Williams of Leesburg and Lee Williams of Warren; a daughter, Mrs Jack (Armina) Patrick of Claypool; three halfbrothers, Johnny Hall of Floyd County. Ky.. Bert Hall of McDowell County, Ky., and Jerry Hall of Lorraine. Ohio; two sisters. Sarah Tackett of Kendallville and Laura Yates of California; two half-sisters, Effie Nelson of Columbus. Ohio and Mrs. Etta Hunter of Floyd County; 26 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. One son. three daughters, one brother and one half-brother also preceded her in death. Kaufman cnea after accident Timothy R Kaufman. 18, r 1 Syracuse, was cited for driving while intoxicated following a onevehicle accident on May 11. The accident occurred on CR 1000 N, west of Old Rd 8 According to Kosciusko County Police information, Kaufman was travelling east. As he started into a curve, another vehicle approached him from the opposite direction on his side of the road. He swerved to the right avoiding the other vehicle. Damage was set between $l,OOl and $2,500 for the Kaufman vehicle.

& FRIENDSHIP AUCTION — The fourth annual CROP-Church World Service Friendship Auction will be held at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds in Goshen on Saturday, May 16. This is an interdenominational effort hytfie churches in northern Indiana to raise funds in a specially to help needy people around the world. The big attraction will be the quilt auction starting at 8:30 a.m. Quilts of all sizes, colors and designs will be auctioned off. There will also be an auction of antiques and collectibles, and used items beginning at 11 a.m. Other items such as plants, handmade articles, and crafts will be available. Plenty of food will also be served with the all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast beginning at 6:30 a.m. For lunch, the Jonah Club Fish Fry will be featured, plus chicken and noodles, homemade pies, and sandwiches. Also plenty of homemade baked goods and noodles will be available. Open house will be held on Friday. May 15, from 5-8 p.m. Last year's sale raised $25,000, funds that were used for self-help programs, nutrition education, disaster relief, refugee housing, water resource development, and many other programs in more than 50 countries around the world. This is an exciting opportunity to help others less fortunate through donations on the sale d«fy.

Stover, 21. r 1 Leesburg, was involved in an accident Tuesday, May 5, in Warsaw. She was traveling through the 700 block of North Huntington St., Warsaw, when she swerved to the right to avoid colliding with a vehicle which had slowed to turn in front of her. Her auto bumped a hydrant in the mishap. There was an estimated $l9O damage to Stover’s auto.

His leg was wedged in a tree while fishing and he was unable to remove it.

Milford EMS The Milford Emergency Medical Service responded to several calls this week. Wednesday, May 6 — EMS transported a man from his home at Dewart Lake to the Goshen Hospital emergency room. He was experiencing severe chest pain and pain in both arms. Thursday, May 7— An elderly lady experiencing sharp chest pain and feeling weak was transported to the Goshen Hospital emergency room. Thursday, May 7 — A Milford lady suffering from sinus infection was checked by the EMS but was not transported to the hospital. Friday. May 8 — A man who was very weak and in a semiconscious state was transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room. Friday. May 8 — A Milford lady was transported to Goshen Hospital to be admitted as a patient Tuesday, May 12A lady experiencing severe abdominal pain was transported to the Goshen Hospital emergency room
