HAVILAND MOBILE M VNOR SOLD— Haviland Mobile Manor, located just north of Syracuse (in Elkhart Counts > has been sold by Larry and Sandra Haviland to Tom and Charlene Van Hasten of ISMiO Wolfe Road. Wheeler. Michigan. The two couples are shown above with Lawrence Thwaits of Thwaits Realty. who negotiated the sale. a Mr. Van Hasten has been in the plumbing, heating and construction trade for years and owns other rental properties in Michigan The Van Hastens have two daughters. Tracey. 17. and Kristen. 13. They will change the name of the park to Country Meadows. They plan to extensively remodel the park, including asphalt roads off-street parking, sidewalks and street lights. The park now has 28 sites with 17 rentals The new owners plan to dev lope another three to five acres, giving a total of Wi units for rent. Thev will take over the property on May 1 when Mr. Van Hasten will move to the area. Mrs. Hasten plans to remain in Michigan until school is out.

County committee to work with U.S. council of IYDP

Nonna J. Anglin. Kosciusko County liaison for the International Year of Disabled Persons and director of special projects at the Cardinal Center in Warsaw, has been selected to chair the county’s committee which has been established to work with the U.S. Council for IYDP. Liz Cutler was elected secretary’ for the group. Other committee chairpersons are Steve Stewart, employment; and Joe Miller and Miss Cutler, public education "Our community partner committee firmly supports the goal of promoting full participation of disabled persons in the life of our society, which has been adopted by both the United Nations and the U S Council,’’ she said The committee represents a broad cross-section of Kosciusko County citizens dedicated to improving the quality of life of disabled citizens. Committee members include Inez Devenney, Red Cross; Pat Lucas. Lucas Realtors; William Kurosky. The Otis R Bowen Center; Barbara Clouse, county health nurse; Don Frantz. WRSW. Rev Kenneth Fast, ministerial association; and Michelle Wampler. Zimmer. Inc Other committee members include Doris Matson; Liz Cutler; and Cardinal Center staff Minor fire damage at Dewart Lake home A build up of creosote in the fireplace chimney of Virgil Eatons home. Dewart Lake, caused minor smoke damage. Friday morning, April 17. There was little damage to the home. Milford Fire department responded to the fire with three trucks and a number of men. Enroute to the fire a minor accident occurred between the equipment fire truck and a car owned by Merle Rink, Milford, near the entrance of EMS Lane 10. Little damage was sustained to either vehicle
