Home and Sports show opens Friday

This Friday. April 3. at 4 pm, the Second Annual Home and Sport Show will begin at the National Guard Armory, SR 15N Warsaw. The show, which will feature area retailers and ser-vice-providers displaying their products, will continue until 5 pm Sunday evening. April 5. The show, sponsored by the Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce, was rescheduled from the original dates of March 20-22 because the Warsaw Community High School Tigers were involved in the IHSAA basketball finals m Indianapolis Thirty-six area businesses will be offering their goods and product lines in booths and exhibits. In addition to this, daily adult clinics on sporting and money-saving tips for the consumer will take place beginning at 4:30 p m. on Friday, April 3 At that time. Steve Albertson will discuss bow hunting in Indiana Jack Klinefelter will discuss the care and shooting safety of muzzleloaders ’beginning at 5 pm Tom Maze and Rod Teeple representing the Optimists, will ''tell of their annual Montreal River Trip at 6 p m A fishing clinic presented by John Davis is scheduled to begin at 7 p m The final event scheduled for Friday evening will begin at 8:30 p m when John Sullivan discusses boating and hunting laws in Indiana.

While the adults are participating in these clinics, there will be several children s events scheduled throughout the week end for the younger set. The first of these, the Orby Show, is set to begin at 7 p.m on Friday evening followed by a magic show which will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday’s adult events begin at 12 p.m when Bob Walmer discusses geothermal energy; at 12.30 p.m. Bonnie Heinemen will talk about solar power A discussion of all wood foundations will take place beginning at 1.3 Q p.m. while Roger Robb is scheduled to talk about nuclear generation beginning at 2:30 p.m. followed by Bonnie Heinemen talking about solar power at J:3O p.m. Roger Robb will again present his nuclear generation talk at 4:30 p m. and at S:3O p.m. Bob Walmer will again discuss geothermal energy. The evening’s clinics for adults will include a tax panel discussion of tax credits for energy conservation at 7 p.m and a talk about the safe installation of woodburning stoves will be given by Rusty Koenigshof beginning at 8 p m While the adults are busy, the children will be entertained on Saturday with a magic show beginning at 11:30 am and Roger Robb’s Electricity for Kids will take place at 12:30 p.m The

Orby Show is scheduled three different times on Saturday: 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and again beginning at 7 p.m. A magic show will be held twice on Saturday afternoon for children at 2:30 p.m. and again at 4:30 p.m. and Roger Robb will repeat his Electricity for Kids at 6p.m. The final day of the 1981 Home and Sport Show will begin with Rob Gast’s tips on bike maintenance while Don Dickens will entertain golfers w ith his golf tips at 1:30 p.m. A fishing clinic will be held at 2 p.m. with John Davis instructing area anglers and Ron Adams will talk about water skiing at 3 p.m. The final adult activity scheduled for Sunday is Rob Gast’s talk on cross country skiing which will begin at 3:30 p.m. Two events are scheduled for the younger set on Sunday: a 1:45 p.m. magic show and the Orby Show which will begin at 3 p.m? Free parking will be available this year in two places, the Uniroyal parking lot and the Armory parking lot. A bus will shuttle between the Uniroyal parking lot and the Armory for those who park at Uniroyal. 1 ..A il,.w r1 eut'.i |jj | HOME DESTROYED — An early morning fire Friday, March 27. destroyed the old Jim Fields property at the corner of CR 900 N and CR 425 W, southwest of Milford. Frank Reed occupied the home, owned by Opal Joy Harman. Damage was estimated between 530.000 and 835.000. Milford firemen were called to the scene at 3:30 a.m. and responded with 14 men and three trucks. Assistance was given by the Leesburg and Nappanee Fire Departments. There were no injuries but the home and its contents were a total loss. Reed had some amusement rides near the home which were not damaged.
