4-H'er explains Kosko-K-9's
By SALLY MIXER Have you ever wished that you rbuld have a smart dog that did everything you wanted it to do? If you have someone in 4-H or ages 10-18. he or she could train the family K-9. There is a group of us in Warsaw called Kosco K-9's It is a part of the 4-H division of the Kosciusko County extension service. We have meetings every Tuesday night during the summer, just like regular 4-H meetings. We meet at the fairgrounds, by the race track. We bring our dogs to be trained, which we train ourselves. There are leaders to teach us how to train properly. There are two classes for each year, one through five years, five is the highest year, but there are B classes for the dog who isn't ready for the next year One of the other classes that

This is an optional choice We have dog Olympics and other fun things to do during the summer along with a fun match. We usually have a float in the Warsaw parade At the end of summer, at the beginning of the fair, the big show is held. Everyone is tense, excited and happy. There are a lot of emotions going on throughout the day. At the end of the day it all seems worthwhile ahd rewarding. Diane Schwartz talks to Sarosis
Diane Schwartz spoke to the Sorosis Club of Milford at the February meeting held in the home of Mrs. T. A. Miller. Mrs. Two from Syracuse in 'Singers' Jim Kampf and Kent Lawson, both of Syracuse, are members of the University Singers of Ball State who will present the group's 16th annual "Spectacular" Friday through Sunday, March 13-15. in Emens Auditorium. Curtain time will be 8 pm on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 pm on Sunday. A highlight of the show will be a display of Laserium Odyssey 11. the largest laser show to come to the auditorium stage The twohour show also will include Broadway, disco and jazz music, according to Larry Boye, member of the music faculty who directs the Singers Kampf is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Spunar, r 5 Syracuse and Lawson, an instrumental music major, is the son of Mrs. Betty Lawson, r 2 Syracuse Cardiac cooking class set Goshen General Hospital is offering a Cardiac Cooking Seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 9 a m. to 3 p.m. in the Community Health Information Center. This seminar is for persons who must follow a low salt or low cholesterol diet because of a heart problem and for the individual who prepares their meals. Pre-registration is required There is a fee which covers the cost of the seminar including lunch. The objectives of the cooking seminar are for the participants to understand and improve their tow cholesterol and or low salt diets; to adopt a plan for losing weight or for achieving weight maintenance on a cardiac diet; to gather information concerning cooking creatively with the cardiac diet , and to learn how to make appropriate food selections when grocery shopping or eating out. Schwartz was introduced by Marilyn Brown. program chairman. Mrs* Schwartz is the mother of eight children, six of whom are adopted. She explained that their main concern in raising black and bi-racial children in a white family was the benefit their own two children would gain, rather than any disadvantages She shared some triumphs and defeats experienced with each child. She also spoke of the lack of cooperation they received from the Kosciusko County adoption agency when they decided to adopt their last child They returned to the Fort Wayne agency to get Sara, who is now a year old. She told of her strong feelings about providing a home for children who are already here and in desperate need of loving, accepting homes.
