LOUISA'S LETTER

We belong to a club whose members serve dinner when it is their turn to entertain. Now when we go to most of these people’s houses they have very skimpy meals and we usually come away hungry. But the worst part of the whole affair is that they make remarks about fat people and both of us are overweight. This has irritated me and we are thinking of resigning from the club. Chubby-N.C. Answer: If you like the members of the club and they have been

friends of yours for a long time you might try two other courses before you resign from the club. The first is that when it meets with you have a very skimpy meal- “ and eat after they leave. _z The second is to' start counting calories and lose some weight. Os course 1 do not know whether you are too ) overweight or not. Some people starve themselves to such an extent that they do more harm to their bodies and their dispositions than ten extra pounds would do. However the insurance companies claim that excess overweight does shorten life so it might be well for you to give that some thought. Louisa. Address: Louisa, Box 532, Orangeburg. S.C. 29115
