Mr. and Mrs. David Keffer of Greenwood were week end guests in the home of Mrs. Keffer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Custer and son of near Milford.

20 YEARS AGO, DEC. 1,1950 Randall Dewart and Amos Orn will fly via jet airliner from Chicago next Monday morning to Los Angeles. Mr. Orn will join his wife who has been visiting their son, Rev. Harry Orn and family for several months at their home in Santa Ana. Mr. Dewart will make several calls in California for the Mutschler Bros. Co., in Nappanee whom he represents before returning to Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Weisser and family expected to move into their newly remodeled home east of Milford sometime before Christmas. They have purchased the former Johnny Fisher farm
and did some extensive remodeling in recent weeks Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Morehead and family were Thanksgiving day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Miller at Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Slabaugh entertained Mr. and Mrs. Van Eash and Mrs. Verna Slabaugh and children of Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. John? Yeater and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Graff and children on Thanksgiving day. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wilson and family spent Friday evening at the Don Da vidsen home.
30 YEARS AGO. NOV. 30,1950 Mrs. Cloye Stone and three children Donna Jean, Dale, and Illa, moved recently from Peoria, 111. At present they are staying with Mrs. Stone’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Royce Biller, until the residence property she recently purchased is vacated. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Maloney, who sold their property a few months ago with the intention of moving to a different climate for Mr. Maloney’s health, have bought their property back and will remain in Milford. Mr. Maloney has been feeling better and it is hoped they will not find it necessary to move. Mr. and Mrs. Robert McLaren and children, Bobbie and Nancy, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Smith at Warsaw Thanksgiving day. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Rowdabaugh of Warsaw and Mrs. W. W. Clarke, of San Francisco, Calif., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Beer at dinner Tuesday evening. Mrs. is the former faiss Boya Rowdabaugh. 58 YEARS AGO. MARTIN BROWN Navy Fireman Control Technician First Class Martin B. Brown, whose wife, Sally, is the daughter of Eldred A. and Florence Mabie. Milford, recently returned from a deployment in the Caribbean. He is a crewmember aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Tattnall, homeported in Fla. Brown joined the Navy in March 1962. TIMOTHY KAUFMAN Navy Fireman Timothy R. Kaufman, son of Robert M. and Sharon A. Kaufman, r 1 box 2E Syracuse, has completed recruit training at the Naval Training Center, Orlando, Fla. A 1978 graduate of Wawasee High School, he joined the Navy in August 1980. Sandra Mullett in Warsaw accident Sandra L. Mullett, 20, North Webster, started to cross US 30 on Parker St., Warsaw, when her car collided with an auto operated by Nancy L. Meilis, 24, Warsaw, on November 25. The Meilis woman suffered a bump on the head and a cut knee. Miss vehicle had an estimated $1,500 damage and $2,000 damages were estimated to the Meilis’ car.

Bryan Mock will present an organ recital on the Musica Christiana Series December 14 at 4 p.m. at the Saint Thomas Apostle Catholic Church, North Main Street, Elkhart. Mock is presently a Western Michigan. Kalamazoo, student. He is an associate music degree candidate there. He is also an organist for the Saint John's Episcopal Church, Sturgis. Mock is the son of Mr. and Mrs Larry Mock of Elkhart. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mock and Opal Darr of Syracuse. Minor injury in one-car accident Philip Baumgardt, 30, r 2 Syracuse, was driving south on SR 13 by the Syracuse Post Office curve Lhen an oncoming car reportedly forced him into the snow on the road edge on Thanksgiving Day. The snowbank threw his car into an utility pole causing $2,500 damage to the auto and SSOO damage to the NIPSCo utility pole. Passenger Susan Hunter, 39, r 3 box 639 Syracuse, had a small cut on her head, but refused treatment.

The public is welcome to attend the free series and the reception following. Skidding vehicles cause over $2,000 damage Patricia L. Greene, 18, r 5 Syracuse, sustained cuts and bruises in a one-car accident on November 28 while traveling north on CR 300E south of DeFreese Road, in the Dewart Lake area. She was passing an oncoming vehicle when she lost control of her car on the slushy pavement. Her auto slid to the right side of the road into a ditch and rolled approximately three times in a field. Greene's car had an estimated SI,OOO damage. She refused medical treatment for the injuries. In another accident; Robert L. Tobias. 17, r 5 Syracuse, lost control, of his van while driving north on SR 13 Saturday. Tobias slid into a ditch rolling the van on its top. Tobias’ van had an estimated SI,OOO damage. A state highway department sign, a $75 value, was knocked down in the accident.
