"Now that you have spent a.few days again in Orlando and at Disney World in particular, what would you recommend in planning a vacation to include Disney World,” asked Lem when Lettie returned to the agency after visiting the area recently. "My primary concern in regard to visiting Disney World would be transportation and hotel accommodations,” Lettie replied. “For those who drive to Florida 'and stay in one of the convenient hotels outside the park, they would have transportation of their own into Disney World where there is a large parking lot. But for those who fly to Orlando, and plan to spend one or two days at Disney World, a hotel in the park such as the Polynesian or the Contemporary, would be very convenient with the monorail nearby to take them to the amusement area. Some hotels at the entrance to the park or nearby do have minibus service but most of the time there is a per person charge By spending one night at one of the hotels mentioned, it would give two days there then a hotel in the Orlando area with a rental car for the rest of the vacation could work out very well financially," Betty suggested. "Rental cars are available at daily, weekly or week end rates and that is about the easiest transportation for two or more when taking advantage of the many other parks in this part of Florida. Most hotels now have swimming pools and other recreational facilities plus evening entertainment. So there is a resort atmosphere wherever one goes," Lettie added. "What other places not far from Orlando do you suggest 9 " Annie Lou asked. "There are 25 or more interesting places to go in this midFlorida area. One place that holds a great deal of interest for many folks is the Kennedy Space Center which is east of Orlando on the Atlantic coast Drivers are urged to follow the Kennedy Space Center signs and not those of Cape Canaveral. At the space center there are free exhibits, free movies, free parking and space science demonstrations. There are conducted tours throughout the day which include the whole center and one of these tours also covers the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Air Force Museum. For this tour.
Scouting, topic of Kiwonis Club
James W. Molebash, district director of the Anthony Wayne Council of the Boy Scouts of America, was the guest speaker at the recent meeting of the Wawasee Kiwanis Club. Molebash explained what Scouting is and a new branch of Scouting that he would like to see started in the Syracuse area. Scouting’s goals are aimed to develop boys in personal fitness, community service, citizenship, outdoor skills and to bring boys together socially. The three main branches of Scouting divide the boys into age groups that best benefit them, these are Cub, Boy, and Explorer. Molebash stated that Warsaw was selected for a pilot test for a new branch called Varsity Scouting which will include boys 14 and 15 years of age. Varsity Scouts will be able to participate in “High Adventure” activities which includes five areas of the United States set aside for camps by the Boy Scouts of America. These camps take scouting and adventure to an ’ extra length from mountains, canoeing, to sailing a yacht to the Bahamas. In other business, Wawasee Kiwanis Club President Clair Mohler greeted three new

there is a charge,” Lettie explained. “Among the other attractions,” Lettie continued, "there is Cypress Gardens near Winter Haven, a plant lover’s paradise. It also features waterski shows, an alligator show, and the Living Forest which is a six acre nature center with animals from around the world in unique' habitats. There are dining facilities and gift shops, too. An admission fee is charged to enter this park which is open from 8 a m. to 6 p.m. daily.” “Circus World, located 10 minutes west of Disney World, is the Ringling Bros, and Barnum and Bailey entertainment center and the world’s only circus oriented theme park. This is not to be confused with the Ringling museums and gardens at Sarasota built by John Ringling and which he willed to the State of Florida. The Ringling Mansion, built in 1925, also is in Sarasota." “Then there is Busch Gardens, two miles east of Tampa, a 300 acre turn of the century Africanthemed family park featuring Timbuktin, with dolphin theater, rides, authentic craftsmen and Heinrich Barth’s Festhaus. This German restaurant and entertainment complex has a seating capacity of 1,200." “Sea World, near Orlando, is the world’s largest, most elaborate marine life theme park and covers 135 acres. It features Shamu, a four-ton whale, sea lions, a one-ton and a dolphin show. There are two marine stadiums where these animals perform. Across from Sea World is the Six Flags’ Hall of Fame the world’s largest wax museum featuring more than 200 stars of movies, television and music in elaborate sets from memorable scenes of their performances. And still another museum of interest is Wings and Wheels near the Orlando airport. This claims to be the world's largest commercial aviation exhibit featuring a unique collection tracing the history of transportation." “It sounds like Florida has the world’s ‘mostest’ but it has developed these attractions over the years taking advantage of its climate and natural resources. The result is a delight for all who visit Florida and these interesting parks." Lettie concluded.

Home Improvement, Safety And Economy Keynote For Safety: New Locks For Old Homes
When you buy and move into an older home, there are two good reasons why you should install new locks on the doors. The first is, you don’t know’ who, or how many people, have keys to the doors of that “new” old home of yours. The second - old locks are probably not as burglarproof as newer locks on the market. Most homeowners get all keyed up when faced with the task of replacing locks. They think, special skills are needed to do the job and often put it off or don’t do it at all. The fact is, special skills aren’t half as important as the proper tools.
Lock manufacturers usually provide detailed instructions on how to install their locks. Most even include an easy-to-use pattern for accurately positioning the through-door hole. Here are two tips that can help make your job Easier and more professional: Position lock about three feet from the floor. Cut hole carefully so it is square to the surface for smooth locking. Your hardware store can help you select the locks best suited to your purposes, and may have a few more helpful hints on installation.
