LOUISA’S LETTER
Dear Louisa, 1 have been going with a boy for five months. We were so much in love until school opened and that’s when she came along. Now he seems so interested in her but 1 don’t think she is that much interested in him. Just last week he told me that I didn’t have anything to do with him. All my friends tell me that he will come back to me, just give him time. It hurts me to see them together. I feel like a fool because 1 love him so much and 1 thought he loved me. Please tell me whether I should wait for him or go to him and try to get him back and if so how. D.D.-Fla. Answer: You are very young and it is always hard on us when we lose our first love. But the

thing to do is not to look back and bemoan your loss but to try not to let your boyfriend know how hurt you are. It never pays to chase a straying love. If you want him back you stand a better chance by going on as if nothing has happened and being nice to other people. Very often we think that the thing that hurts us so is because we are so much in love while the real reason, or a great part of it, is our pride. We feel that we have failed or that we are not lovable. Get that out of your mind and realize that it is very easy to fall in love when you are young and that you will probably meet Someone else later on that you will love even more than the one who has gone.
