| LOUISA’S 3g=g=gg|g LETTER
Dear Louisa. My husband and 1 got a divorce six months ago. Neither of us had been unfaithful to each other or were interested in anyone else but we had simply been unhappy with each other. The things he liked 1 hated and the things and people 1 liked bored him. So we decided to divorce. Well, it is very different from the way it was when 1 was a single girl. If anyone asks me for a date, the next thing 1 know 1 am being propositioned. What in the world is the matter with the men of today? Can't they enjoy an evening out with an attractive woman without trying to bring sex in the picture? To be frank. 1 am looking for a husband. Life is much more pleasant with a man around the house but 1 am not looking for someone who is a drunk or has nothing but sex bn his mind. Where can 1 meet wholesome eligible men? R.N.-Ohio Answer: My only answer to this is to go where interesting men are. Get a job in a place where there are men or do volunteer work with organizations or with your church. Go for a cruise.
Lamb family elected members of Angus Assoc.
Dr. Bruce L. Lamb and family of Milford have been elected to membership in the American Angus Association, according to Dr. C. K. Allen, executive vice president of the American Angus Association. Lamb is a partner with Dr. T. A. Miller and Dr. Albert G. Schafer in the Milford Large Animal Clinic. Headquartered in Saint Joseph, Mich., the American Angus Mrs. Hoerr is Alpha Nu speaker Mrs. Robert (Marguerite) Hoerr, Lakeland Community School Board member, was the speaker at the recent meeting of the Alpha Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, international society of women teachers, held at John Wong’s Restaurant in Warsaw. Mrs. Hoerr, who is employed by the Soil and Conservation Board as a secretary, is a mother and grandmother. In her presentation to the group, she recounted her “journey from a one-room schoolhouse to the position of school board member” and her experiences, responsibilities and satisfactions while on the board. In addition to the regular business meeting at which a thank-you letter from the family of the late Jo Sharp was read. President Mildred Boley reported on the executive board meeting, the Golden Gift fund and a seminar on teacher stress. The program featured the following: Announcement of the state convention beginning on April 4,1981, at French Lick; the national convention in July, 1981 at Columbus, Ohio, at which Warsaw authors Mamie Braddock and Marilyn Phillips will be honored; a quiz on Delta Kappa Gamma by Virginia Ditmer; and the singing of “Teachers’ Lament”, a parody of the song popularized by Tennessee Ernie Ford, “Sixteen Tons”, led by Karilyn Metcalf. Hostesses for the evening included Marilyn Phillips, chairman; Norma Rush; Diane Carmichael; Marilynne Curtis; and Nancy Nelson.
Don’t look for good husband material in bars or public dance halls. There are plenty of good men around if you can only find them. Louisa. Dear Louisa, My weight is around 128 or 129 and getting close to 130. I’m in the Bth grade, about 5 feet and 4 inches tall. Do you think 1 ought to lose some weight? Please hurry and write me back. I'm very anxious, very, very anxious. My age is 13. K.L.-Tenn. Answer: yes. 1 think you would be smart to lose a little weight, because it’s easier to take it off at your young age. now, than later. And, also, your height doesn’t suggest 130 pounds. Try eating fewer sweets and starches and more meat, vegetables and proteins. It doesn’t sound as if any diet is necessary. This, and getting good exercise, regularly, should' do the trick. If you have a large frame, of course, you can weigh more than if you are the slender type, and still look good. Association is the largest beef cattle registry association in the world with 38,000 active life and junior members. Its computerized records detailed information on nearly 10 million registered Angus. The association records ancestral information and keeps records of production on individual animals for its members. These permanent records help members select and mate the best animals in their herds to produce high quality, efficient breeding cattle which are then recorded with the American Angus Association. Most of these registered Angus are used by U.S. farmers and ranchers who raise high quality beef for U.S. consumption. Sfiy SAGAMORE OF THE WABASH — “Shocked!” was how Kosciusko County Auditor Jean N’orthenor reacted to the news that Governor Otis R. Bowen has appointed her a Sagamore of the Wabash.
