First graders recycle cans to buy playground equipment
The first graders at Milford Elementary School are collecting tin and aluminum cans for recycling. The money they eam will go towards the purchase of new playground equipment. Anyone who wishes to help the first graders out may deposit his of her cans in the container by the flagpole in front of the Milford Elementary School every Monday between 8 a m and 10 a m. The cans should be rinsed and have the labels removed. Those who cannot deliver their cans to the school may send them to the school with any elementary student. Milford first graders left on a field trip Wednesday morning, Oct. 8. The students toured Bertsch Vending Company in Warsaw and the Warsaw Municipal Airport. A pilot for Zimmers USA explained about the Zimmer’s plane. The first graders then went on to Tree House Farms near Claypool where they ate lunch and spent the afternoon. Milford firsT grade teachers are Donna Long, Cynthia Kaiser and Carol Landrigan.
