After looking at the Bushong garden, the new district director. Mrs. George Foster, gave a demonstration and talk on the basics of flower showing. The North Central director stressed flower arranging as an art form. She focused on conditioning flowers for preservation and the importance of the proper flower container. Mrs. Foster said that the holder must be functional, harmonious and subordinate Earthy tones were recommended. Baskets, seashells or pottery were examples. An accessory of a flower arrangement is anything that's not plant material. . The club flower “Grown and Shown" will be held July 31 and August 1. at the Calvary’ United Methodist Church. before taking a permanent step. If there's a young minister or cousin (male) who would work with you in influencing her. that might help. Be as patient as you can and try to avoid a break as long as you have a chance to help and try not to counsel in a nagging way. The best hope, usually, is love and understanding and making it clear you are genuinely concerned for her future. But get all the outside help you can. from people she will respect. And try to find other boys that might interest her. God bless you. Good luck. The latest studies indicate pot smoking is. after all. damaging to the smoker, mentally and otherwise, after a time, and that is now being recognized more and more.
