Beginning Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m., Dr. Jerome Meers of the Otis R. Bowen Center for Human Services, will present five, one and one-half hour classes in “Practicing Emotional Control ” These classes are designed to teach participants how to create and maintain desired emotions and how to eliminate undesirable ones. Participants in the classes will receive a copy of the popular selfhelp book by Dr. Maxie C. Maultsby called “You and Your Emotions.” Numerous handouts, audio and video tapes and homework assignments will be used to instruct participants in the practice of emotional control. The classes will meet at the Bowen Center. Persons interested in attending the five sessions should contact Peggy Drane at the Bowen

Center. Class size will be limited to 20 persons and those interested are encouraged to pre-register. St-Mor-Kos Grange has pot luck

St-Mar-Kos Grange 56 meet at „ New Tamerack Grange Hall, Southeast of Mishawaka, Thursday evening. June 19, at 6:30 p.m. for a potluck supper. After the meal Master Vera Thompson presided over the meeting. Standing committees of the women’s activity, agriculture and legislature reported on their projects since the last meeting. Each subordinate Grange gave reports of activities they had accomplished so far. Granges giving reports were Bremen, Waubee and New Tamarack. Lecturer Ruth Miller and legislative committee Otho Bon Durante and Huron Felton talked on the bills in Congress and the U.S. Senate. Recipes on creative cookery with pineapple were given to each lady. Since June is dairy month, Mrs. Miller had a contest on dairy products and read the 10 dairy

commandments. She also read ‘‘Milk, isn’t just for children anymore” and a poem, written by a school girl, “The Cow.” The lecturers’ conference will be held in Elkhorn, Wis., on October 3,4 and 5 for the states of Indiana, Illinois. Michigan and Ohio. The evening was closed by members singing “The Gem of the Ocean” and “Work for The night is Coming.” Pianist was Maybelle Bon Durant. The next meeting will be July 17 with the Waubee Grange as host in the Saint Joseph Bank social room. A pot luck supper will be held a 16:30 p. m. Cake storage Baked cakes may be stored unfrosted in the freezer up to three months if well sealed in plastic wrap. Thaw, uncovered, for about two hours before slicing.

Dennis and Pamela Cory of Hamburg, West Germany, and Judge Bernhard Suermann of Bieleseld, West Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Cory and Judge Suermann attended the Helen Keller Centennial Congress in Boston. Mass., last week and will leave Milford on Sunday, July 6, for California to visit a manufacturer of optical equipment for the blind. HOME FROM TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Carl Duncan. Milford, returned from their honeymoon trip in Hawaii on Saturday. June 28. The couple was married on June 6, but did not leave until June .11. The Duncan’s went to five of the islands and took several tours and enjoyed dinners. Waubee Lake gets weed cutter The weed cutter is completed and ready for use, according to Bill Troup, president of the Waubee Lake Association. The weed cutter was being built as one of the many projects of the association this year. The annual meeting of the Waubee Lake Association will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 7 p.m. Business to be conducted will be election of officers for the coming year, reports on water testing work with the county board of health, weed cutter cost report, chicken barbecue and membership drive. All residents of Waubee Lake are urged to attend.
