Death claims Louis E. Craig, General Motors executive, ret.
Nov. 13,1903 —June 16,1980 Louis E. Craig, 76, r 3, Syracuse, died at Goshen Hospital on June 16 at 8 a.m., Jess than a month before he was to havfe served as Commodore of the Wawasee Flotilla. Craig had been taken to Goshen by ambulance. He had suffered Raymond Wolferman Raymond E. Wolferman, 70, North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Milford, died Tuesday, June 10, in Arcadia, Fla. His brother Jack Wolferman, Milford, died Monday June 2. He was born in Crown Point and moved to North Fort Myers .from Milford in 1963. He was a retired refrigeration maintenance man and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness North Fort Myers Congregation. Survivors include his wife, Delilah, North Fort Myers; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Lenna) Traylor, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Dale (Carol) Eby, Goshen and Mrs. Paul (Cynthia) Damnor, Elkhart; a sister, Gertrude Wyland, Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Jehovah’s Witness North Fort Myers Congregation. Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall. North Fort Myers Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

from a heart condition for several months. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years. He worked in the Chevrolet Division and was executive sales manager in Indianapolis. Before retiring, he was in sales at Wichita, Kan. Craig was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years, the Scottish Rite and a member of the Automotive Full-Timers Association. He was a Rotarian, past president of Rotary and was active in the Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary until his death. Craig was affiliated with the Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Born in Briceville, Tenn., on November 13, 1903, Craig was a permanent Syracuse resident since 1964. He had been coming to Syracuse since 1930. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Webb Burton of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. One son, Harry E., proceeded him in death. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 18. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, June 19, at 1 p.m. Rev. Phil Frew is officiating with a burial following at the Syracuse cemetery. The family request that memorials be given to the EMS or Heart Fund. Lou Ann Cripe May 29,1954 — June 14,1980 Lou Ann Cripe, 26, Melbourne, Fla., died Saturday from injuries suffered in a Melbourne automobile accident. She was born in Elkhart on May 29, 1954. Miss Cripe resided in Syracuse until she moved to Melbourne 18 years ago. She was employed as a shipping clerk. She is survived by her parents, Clifford and Patricia (Treadway) Cripe; two sisters in Melbourne, Sue Rice and Mary Cripe; and one brother, John, of Homestead, Fla. Also surviving is one grandmother, Mrs. Earl Treadway, of Syracuse. The funeral is Wednesday, June 18th at 4 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Kennard Robinson officiating. The burial will follow at Syracuse cemetery. John C. Seniff John C. Seniff, 63, r 3 Ligonier, formerly from North Webster, died at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, in his home. He lived in the Ligonier area for 44 years, moving there from North Webster, and retired last year from Ligonier Water Works.

Syracuse EMS Several Syracuse runs were made by the North Webster ambulance service this week because of repairs being made to the Syracuse vehicle. John Bartman, 11, fell off his bicycle across from Nyikos Pet Shop on Huntington St., on June 16. The 213 W. Main resident suffered abrasions and a large cut on the side of his head. On July 5, 1937, he married the former Mary Louise Smalley. She died in 1958. On August 29, 1959, he married Helen Burk at Plymouth. She survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Michael, Toledo, Ohio, and Randol, Fort Wayne; a stepson, John DePey, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Judith) Taylor, New Carlisle; and Mrs. Larry (Susan) Knox, Cromwell; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Charles (Toni) Thompson. Willowby, Ohio; and Mrs. Susan Saunders, Peru; one brother, Joseph, New Carlisle; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Patti) Marburger, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, June 16, at 2 p.m. in the Orr Funeral Home, Ligonier. Rev. Mrs. Harry Gutelius Jan. 8,1882 — June 13,1980 Nelle Sedgwick Gutelius, 98, Ligonier, mother of Robert K. Sedgwick, Syracuse, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, in Greencroft Nursing Home, Goshen. She lived her entire life in the Ligonier area and was a retired nurse, having worked for Dr. C. D. Lane, Ligonier. She was born on January 8, 1883, in Ligonier and on April 3, 1949, was married to Harry Gutelius at Kendallville. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Gutelius was a member of the Ligonier Presbyterian Church, Ligonier Eastern Star . and was Noble County’s first Red Cross Nurse after graduating from Epworth Memorial Hospital, South Bend, in 1906. Additional survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Don (Janis) Cotherman, Cape Coral, Fla.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, June 16, at 10 a.m. in the Orr Funeral Home, Ligonier. Rev. Gary Warren pastor of the Ligonier Presbyterian Church, officiated and burial was in Oak Park cemetery. John Cutsinger January 8,1914 — June 15,1980 Ji n M, Cutsinger, 66, Franklin, died Sunday, June 15. He passed away at Johnson County Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack. Cutsinger was senior partner in the Cutsinger and Schafstall law firm. The prominant lawyer was a veteran of World War II and a past president of Johnson County Bar Association.

Goshen Hospital by North Webster EMS. Lou E. Craig, 77, r 3 of Syracuse, suffered from pain in his chest on Monday, June 16. The north Webster EMS transported Craig to Goshen Hospital. Esthia Jessup, 79, 13359 CR 50, Syracuse, needed oxygen on June 17. She felt a little pain in her chest and was sent to Goshen Hospital. At the Sleepy Owl on June 18. Lynn Secrest, 26 of r 2, North Webster, had difficulty in breathing and passed out. She was treated by the EMS and returned to North Webster. Charles Wagner, 71, 118 W. Brooklyn St., Syracuse, was transported to Goshen Hospital early Wednesday morning, June 11. The ambulance was called to hishomeat6:o2a.m. Christine Stonesiter, 18, 72645
He was very active in many organizations. He was a member of Sigma Delta Kappa Law Fraternity, American Judicature Society, past district director of the Boy Scouts, member of Franklin College Alumni Association, president, and past president and trustee of Johnson County Historical Society, American Legion, Franklin Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Franklin Elks Club, Franklin Kiwanis Club, First Presbyterian Church in Franklin, listed in the Who’s Who in The Midwest and the Order Symposiarch. Craig was born on January 8, 1914, in Indianapolis to Floyd W. and Mary Elizabeth (Lacy) Cutsinger. He later married Genevieve (Clauson) Vanhiew. He is survived by one daughter Mrs. Paul (Martha) Stoelting and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jane Ann Van Fleet. Also surviving are granddaughter Sarah Lacy Stoelting and step grandson James Alanson Van Fleet. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Franklin, with Rev. James Shaffer officiating. The burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery. CR 46 Syracuse, was transported to Goshen hospital after she fell on some steps in a home on SR 13, Wednesday. The call was at 11:15 a.m. Milford EMS The Milford Emergency Medical Services made two calls on Monday, both to the Kosciusko Community Hospital. During the afternoon a 10-year-old girl was hit by a car while riding her bicycle. She suffered lacerations on her left arm, right •leg injuries and a bump on L .• head. She was transported to the KCH emergency room. A man came in contact with a high voltage electric wire at the foundry in Leesburg Monday evening and was transported to the KCH emergency room.
Milligan, r 2 Syracuse, located on Old Road 13A. on the east side of Lake Wawasee. He was born in the home at 2:45 a m. Saturday and died at noon Sunday. The cause of death was listed as lung congestion. Authorities were told, by the parents, the child was born by natural birth with a mid-wife present. Mrs. Milligan noticed the child was in deep sleep at noon on Sunday and two hours later she said she felt something was wrong with the baby. The family, believed to be members of the Faith Assembly, apparently prayed over the baby until about J): 15 p.m. Sunday. Kosciusko County Coroner Gary Eastlund was contacted and he, along with County Coroner Kenneth Wyman and Sheriff Alen Rovenstine. went to the Milligan home. S 2OO grill missing Turtle Bay Trailer Park resident David C. Bitler of Syracuse, reported his gas grill as stolen. He stated that the caretaker had noticed that his Falcon grill had disappeared sometime around June 1 from the Bitler’s backyard. The gas line leading the grill was cut. The grill was described as very large and complete with rotisserie. The black grill is valued at S2OO.
