The Pulaski ; County Journal has, been sold to the editor of the competing Pulaski County Independent Press, effective this week. The Journal was owned by Nixon Newspapers, Inc., operating as Pulaski County Journal, Inc.

The Journal is the county’s oldest established weekly legal newspaper, being 102 years old. As a result from the sale, the two-year-old Pulaski County Press will stop publication with this week’s issue and Press subscriptions will change to Journal

Market St., Winamac and John Nixon was finalized Monday, April 7. Nixon is president of the Journal and of Nixon Newspapers, Inc. Two arrested North Webster Deputy Marshall Frank Winters arrested two men Saturday night, April 4 and charged them on alcohol-related charges. Mario Gonzalez, 19, Warsaw, was charged with illegal consumptin of an alcoholic beverage. Twenty-four-year-old Celestino Alfaro, Goshen, was booked on furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Jan Maher president of Sorosis Club The new' slate of officers for the Sorosis Club of Milford was presented at a recent meeting. The officers are as follows: President — Jan Maher Vice president — Donna Price Recording secretary — Vi Miller Treasurer — Ann Schafer Reporter — Athene Gathrop At the meeting members were reminded of the Reciprocity meeting with the Columbian Reading Circle on Monday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Milford United Methodist Church. Dorothy Williams will give a book review for the program. After the opening of the meeting, the evening’s program was turned over to Maxine Brembeck, who gave a review of the book “Marvella.” by Marvella Bahy and Mary Lynn Kotz. The book is of a woman’s hope, courage and faith and her bout with cancer. The hostess served Jellodessert, coffee and tea for refreshments. The next meeting will be May 5 which will be the spring party. Athene Gathrop will be the chairman.

Accompanying children between the ages of two and seventeen pay only 50 per cent of the regular round trip coach fare. There is no limit to the number of children that may go with the adults and they need not be related. 2.
