MANY RESIDENTS of Our Town were surprised Friday morning to see the smiling face of Bill Stath on the front page of the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette. Fort Wayne photographer Sherman Goldenberg visited Mount Wawasee and took a photo of Stath, a Waubee Lake resident, with a handful of snow . The caption: Bill Stath and his Mount Wawasee white gold. i The photo was accompanied by a detailed item on last week’s snowfall and the bonanza it gave to area ski resorts. —o— MILFORD TOWN Marshal David Hobbs is seeking informations on the person, or persons, whose vehicle hit a lamp post at Ruch’s MobUe Station between 7 and p.m. last Friday. Estimated damages have been set at $4,000 to the service post, light fixture, air and water. The accident was not reported. Anyone with information is urged

TODD GROVE, son of former Milford residents Frank and Nancy Grove, broke the career 1,000 point barrier and became the second leading scorer in the history of North Wood High School during a recent game against Elkhart Memorial. By the end of the school year Groves should be in the number one spot since he has a total of 1,007 points and the school’s alltime leader, Todd Sheetz, scored 1,010 from 1972-76. Groves did not play last Friday because of an

injury but should break the record this week end. The new library facility was made possible by state, federal and local funding and was presented by the Kappa Kappa Sorority of Marshall County in remembrance of the late Mildred Hurford of Plymouth. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Hurford with her dedicated work for the mentally ill had served the Marshall County Mental Health Association in many volunteer capacities. Mrs. Hurford was appointed in 1957 as director of all volunteer activities for the 17 counties served by the Dr. Norman M. Beatty Hospital at Westville,

She was presented with a citation designating her as one of the top nominees for the 1965 Lane Bryant Community Service Award. Evaluation is in charge of the library and is on the Board of Directors for Alsa 2 (Area Library Service Authority, Region 2), an invaluable service which does extended searching for information. Incolsa, a library service in Indianapolis, processes the books and keeps a duplicate set of the cards and serves as an.access through which books are ordered, making the library an efficient resource center. The library is staffed by volunteers who have been instrumental in the operation of the library. Volunteers Sally Kaufman and Barbara Lehman are in charge of magazines and bookfc, and Grace Nye and Alice Siders, retired librarians of Warsaw, are volunteering their experience in setting up the card catalog.
