By MARIETTA FULLER Os course, you want above all . things to have an abundant life for the New Year. And, just what is this? Has your life been drab and meaningless with no looking forward to another day, let alone a New Year? If so, you are not living an abundant life. Have activities been slowed down because you are always tired? Well, Geritol is only temporary help. Because of old age, do you just spend your time sleeping, eating and watching TV? What you need is a new lifegiving injection of blood and'this is not from a needle in the hands of your doctor. Do you spend your evenings completely with TV so that it becomes an old thing? Time spent in cocktail hours, in attending risque movies or plays and that sort of thing, also becomes monotonous And how about your possessions? Are you constantly adding to them and yet never becoming satisfied? Your answer to all these things is Christ. He will give you an abundant life for that was one of His purposes in coming to earth

to rescue us from our sins. "The thief (devil> cometh not. but for to steal (the good life from you» and to kill (not only physical body death but also the secondspiritual death in hell* and to destroy (every good thing provided by God for you): I (Jesusi am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good Shepherd, the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep." (John 10:10-11 >. And Jesus did. He suffered terribly on that old rugged cross when the sins of all the people of the world were laid on Him. for He was Holy — The Lamb without spot and blemish — the perfect sacrifice, for He was without sin. "There is no other name under Heaven whereby we might be saved " (Acts 4:12) Yet. He did this for us because He loved us. * The minute one repents and turns from his sins and asks Jesus to come and live inside him, Jesus does just that! He dwells within you in the Holy Spirit and you are made a new creature both inside and out.
"Old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) No longer will you listen all night to TV; but Bible study, prayer meetings. Evangelistic meetings, calling on the unchurched, etc. will fill you life. Your partying and drinking will change to coffee hours, punch and cookies, social functions of the church and inviting friends in for an evening of listening to Billy Graham or others, Bible stories, or other good things on TV, listening to a new tape on how to fight the devil or be filled wit h the Holy Spirit and the like. Your old life is dead and your sins are covered by His blood and Jesus dwells within you and He gives you His love and compassion for others. In fact, you get so busy serving the needs of others that you hardly have time for yourself. And certain magazines are thrown into the trash and on your bookshelf you have the Bible and helps such as the inexpensive books of Dr. J. Vernon McGee which explain the Bible verse by verse; for you have a hunger and thirst not for

food and water but for the word of God. And if you should return to your old haunts it will be for a new’ purpose, for your shoes will be swift not in idle gossip about whose husband stepped out on whom but swift to tell others about Jesus. And here are some of the things the Lord will give unto you in abundance: Peace (Philippians 4:7); happiness ( Psalms 144:15); All your needs will be supplied (Philippians 4:19); cares and burdens can be cast upon Him (1 Peter 5:7); the desires of your heart <Psalms 37:4); health, prosperity and a full and long life (3 John 2); and the knowledge that He will never leave you nor forsake you t Hebrew 13:15). And there are so many, many more! So continue in storing up treasures in heaven, continue in well doing; and keep traveling His pathway and in due season. He will honor you with every blessing! (Proverbs 3:27; Luke 12:42; Galatians6:9) Does this not sound like an abundant life? It is waiting lor you if you want it in the New Year ahead!

were going to start the Goshen church came forward and the elders of the church prayed for the nucleus Brouillette stated that prior to the start of the new church, a number of the families from the Goshen area were not coming down for the evening services, but were meeting in each others homes With the division it has allowed each church to grow and to provide openings for others to become involved. At Milford the positions held by those now attending the Goshen Church are opened to others who were not as active. Goals Set When the Goshen church was started goals were set by those ' attending Such goals were choosing a pastor within five months, reaching an attendance of 100 within the first year and a big goal of building their own church within one to one and one-half years. Brouillette stated land has been looked at to build the new church but no decision has been made. The Goshen church has been on the mission list of a number of Christian churches and has been supported through their contributions.
