Parker was caught by the icy road conditions last Saturday. Dec. 8. He was traveling east on Eight Square Road when his car hit a telephone pole after he skidded on the ice. Damage from the 11:45 p.m. accident totalled $1,650; damage to Parker's vehicle was approximately $1,500, another $l5O to the damaged pole.
Fithian opposes FICA benefit tax
WASHINGTON - Congress man Floyd Fithian today termed “outrageous” a proposal to tax social security benefits. “Our older citizens are having a tough enough time as it is. They more than any other group have been clobbered by increases in energy’, food and medical care costs. “To consider heaping an ad ditional burden on them by tax ing their social security benefits is absurd.” Fithian said The proposal was one of several made in a recent study by the Advisory Council on Social Security. The council was created in 1977 to study ways to improve the social security system. Fithian today cosponsored a bill which would expressly prohibit the taxation of social security benefits. Currently the only obstacle to such taxation is

Camp Christmas Tree on December 26, 27, 28
The YMCA is again planning a session of Camp Christmas Tree to be held December 26.27 and 28. Youth in grades three through six will enjo) many different activities including cross-country ski instruction, ice skating and a tour of Maple Leaf Farms, swimming and much more The cross-country skiing and ice skating are if weather permits Youth are responsible for taking their lunch and drink plus a swim suit, towel, white T-shirt, clothing suited for outdoor activity and ice skates. < if the child dot's not have skates they can slide on the ice in their boots). The camp is limited to 25 youths Registration is required in advance by Monday. Dec. 24 Then.' is a cost for the camp and the time of the camp is from 8:30 Some people always sigh in thanking God.
