APC votes no action on Kell's Sky Park

CHILTQTE The final plat for Kell’s Sky / Park, submitted by Mrs. I ChSflbtte Kell Hayden, received \a \no J action vote from the Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission at its regular meeting Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 5. Mrs. Hayden received approval for the preliminary plat at the board’s November meeting. The property is located on a 5.31 acre tract of land on the south side of Eli Lilly Road near Wawasee Airport in Turkey Creek Township. Mrs. Hayden plans to develop the property into a residential subdivision After receiving the three-to-three vote on the final plat, Mrs. Hayden asked the board why it had given preliminary plat approval in November and was now split on final plat approval. One reason for the split vote was because a different combination of board members was present at the November meeting than at this month’s meeting. Betty Dust, vice president of the APC, told Mrs. Hayden she had not voted to approve the

GENE HALL Commission of Indiana reported the Aeronautics Commission had approved the subdivision, because it met the commission’s requirements. Mrs. Hayden’s case was tabled until the APC’s January meeting. The APC unanimously approved the petition presented byHarold Ginter to rezone 28.57 acres fropi an agricultural to a residential district. The property is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Cripplegate and Stanton Roads in Plain Township. No remonstrators were present. Ginter’s petition had been tabled twice before, because Ginter was unable to attend the October and November hearings. Ginter’s case will go before the CountyCommissioners January 7. The final plat of Carmel Addition to Dewart Lake, submitted by Robert Fearrin, was also approved providing Fearrin complete plat restrictions. Before concluding the meeting, the board bade farewell to Mrs. Dust who will not be returning to serve on the APC in 1980. Her APC appointment expires when her term as Syracuse clerktreasurer expires December 31. Mrs. Dust was recently appointed Turkey Creek Township TYustee. replacing Joseph Shewmon who resigned for health reasons.
