3 elected to beard Three new members have been elected to the board of directors of the Diocese of Fort WayneSouth Bend, Bishop William E. McManus announced December 1. They replace four board members who have completed their term of office. The new members are Father James Dugai. C.PP.S., who replaces Father W'illiam Neidhart, C.S.C. and is pastor of Precious Blood Parish. Fort Wayne; Sister Kathleen .Moroney, C.S.C , a lawyer, who is with the Holy Cross Shared Services. Inc.. Saint Mary's College. Notre Dame and replaces Sister Mary Bertrand. C.S.C.; and David" Hipskind. president of Hipskind Asphalt Co.. Fort Wayne and member of Saint Anthony Parish, Angola. Others whose terms have been completed are Father James O'Connor, pastor of Saint Henry Parish, Fort Wayne and Conrad Balentine. president of Franklin Electric Company. Bluffton. Rodgerson receives UT award
Randy Rodgerson. 303 East Hudson St., Nappanee, IN. received United Telephone Com- • pany’s October Customer Relations Award. Rodgerson. installation/repair worker in 4jhe firm’s Nappanee district, was recognized for his actions at a residential fire. Upon completing a work assignment. Rodgerson noticed smoke billowing from a nearbyhouse. Rodgerson entered the burning structure to investigate after no one responded to his knock. Through the dense smoke, he saw an apparently stunned woman (who had been sleeping* and her small child standing in a hallway. When they didn’t respond to Rodgerson’s shouts to leave, he led the mother and child to safety. As the three made their way out of the house, windows were bursting from the extreme heat. Rodgerson called the fire department, took the woman and child to a neighbor’s, and then returned to the fire scene to help firemen disconnect the electrical power from the side of the house. United presented Rodgerson with a certificate of merit and a $25 savings bond. The firm's 1.500 Indiana employees are eligible for the monthly award recognizing exceptional performance beyond the call of duty Rodgerson is the son of Mr and
