to the Knightstown Home-and a box to the Girls’ School at Indianapolis. Christmas gifts will also be purchased for residents at the Lafayette Home and three patients in VA Hospitals. Holiday boxes will be provided for two persons in military service. Santa Boot favors for 180 food trays are being sent to the VA Hospital at Fort Wayne. The Past Presidents Party is scheduled for November 29 at a local restaurant. Following dinner the group will adjourn to the home of Edith Kesterson for a Christmas gift exchange. Games will be played. The auxiliary Christmas party

Inspection for Pythians A formal inspection was held recently by North Webster Pythian Sisters of Lakeview Temple 448 The Inspecting officer was Deputy, Ellen Lantz. Elkhart. Past Grand Deputy. Virginia Anglemyer. and special guest Faye Chrispan. both of Elkhart, were also present. All three ladies were presented with gifts.

EVERYONE WAS so busy last week no one was doing anything Weeks containing a major holiday are usually slow in the news department This state of slowness permits time to pause and reflect. As a youngster Thanksgiving meant several days vacation from school. It was a time for large famih gatherings, to eat. visit and exchange names for Christmas. The first and last reasons were considered to be of the utmost importance by the younger generation — especially the last one.
