Harold Lowry July 10,1925 — Nov. 20,1979 Harold (Pat) Lowry, 54, Palestine, r 5 Warsaw, father of Rickey Lowry and Mrs. Bobby 4Patricia) Stambaugh, both of Milford, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. in the j Veterans Administration Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born on July 10, 1925, to Edward and Pearl (Moats) Lowry in Plymouth. On October 17, 1948, he married the former June Baker in Warsaw. She survives. Lowry was a veteran of World Warr 11, a member of John C. Peterson Post 49, American Legion and was a former mechanic at Munson Chevrolet Agency, Warsaw. survivors include two other sons, Allen Ray, Warsaw, David, Burket; four additional daughters, Mrs. William (Darlene) Moore, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Wilma Ritter, Palestine, Mrs. Earl (Sandra) Snell, W’inona Lake, Mrs. Roy (Karen) Lewis, Palestine; five brothers, Richard, Warsaw, Eugene, Bear Lake, Mich., John and Carl, Culver, Paul, Argos; two sisters, Rossellen Moats, Lakelynn, Pa., Mary Allice Griff, Plymouth; 12 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. in the King Memorial Home, Mentone. Rev. Dewey Conley officiated and burial was in the Palestine cemetery. Lena B. McGarvey Sept. 25, 1896 — Nov. 23, 1979 Lena B. McGarvey. 83. r 3 Syracuse, died Friday, Nov. 23 at Goshen Hospital. She had been a patient there for the past four weeks. The daughter of Battie and Gertrude Pierce, she was born in Kokomo on September 25, 1896. She was married on October 20, 1921, to Karl K. McGarvey. He died on January 13,1971. Mrs. McGarvey had lived in the Syracuse area for the past 21 years. She was a member of the Lake Wawasee Episcopal Chapel and the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. Burgin of Bellair, Mich, survive. Rev. David Hyndman officiated at the services Monday, Nov. 26, which were held in the Harris Funeral Home. Interment was in the Oakridge cemetery at Goshen. John D. Shidler Oct. 26, 1906 — Nov. 26, 1979 John D. Shidler, 73, r 2 Leesburg, died at 6:58 am. Monday, Nov. 26. in the Whitley County Memorial Hospital, He had been failing in health the past year. -vHe was born on October 26, I 906„ to Charles and Savilla (Blain) Shidler, in Pierceton. On December 7,' 1929. he was married to the former Isabelle Weaver. She survives. Shidler had resided near Leesburg for eight years, moving from Grand Rapids, Mich. He was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church, the Pierceton Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Saladin Shrine Temple at Grand Rapids and the American Bakery Assn., Chicago, 111. Additional survivors include one son. Kenneth Shidler,. Wilton. Conn.; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William (Nellie) Hoelle. Fort Wayne; (M)d two brothers. Frank Snidler, Leesburg and Charles Shidler. Holland. Mich. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 am. today (Wednesday) in the McHattonWyman Funeral Home, Warsaw Rev. Rex O. Lindemood of the North Webster United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Hillcrest cemetery, Pierceton. A Masonic memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home Eva Kissinger Doud Jan. 14, 1888—Nov. 22. 1979 Mrs. Eva (Kissinger) Doud, 91, a former teacher in the Milford schools for a number of years, died Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, in the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren. She was a resident of the home for several years. She was born on January 14, 1888, to Charles and Cora (Robbins) Kissinger and graduated from Warsaw High
School in 1906. She started her teaching career that year and it lasted almost half a century. During her teaching period at Milford she was married to Harve Doud of Butler and taught several years in the Butler schools, later moving to Bluffton where she taught in Wells County schools until her retirement in 1956. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Icle McCullough of the Un :f ed Methodist Home at Warren, Mrs. Hollice Stump, Pierceton, Mrs. Louis Evans, Vdhice, Fla.; and several stepgrandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, in the chapel of the United Methodist home. Rev. Jennings of the United Methodist Home officiated and burial was in the cemetery at Mexico.

Paul G. Kaufman March 11.1918 —Nov. 23.1979 Paul G. Kaufman, 61, Warsaw, father of Greg Kaufman, Leesburg and brother of Mrs. Alma Ripley, Milford, died at 9:16 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, in the Veterans Hospital, Fort Wayne, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had been ill with cancer for one year. He was born on March 11, 1918. in Etna Green and was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. On September 28, 1946, he married Irene Chinworth. She survives. Recently Kaufman hadbeen a bartender at the Moose Lodge and from 1960 to 1970 he owned the Liberty Case. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49; Warsaw Masonic Lodge; Scottish

Charles W. Smith July 4,1905 — Nov. 24, 1979 Funearl services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, for Charles W. Smith, 74, r 4 Warsaw. He died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, one day after he was admitted to Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was boro in Kosciusko County on July 4,1905, to Edward H. and Gertrude (Anglin) Smith He was married to Loureta Sellers on October 22, 1930. She died on November 14,1968. Smith attended the Clunette United Methodist Church and was a retired farmer. He also had driven a school bus for Atwood School, Prairie Township for 10 years. Survivors include one son,

Also on November 24 a 16-year-old girl injured in a car-train accident in Leesburg was transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room.
