Syracuse police report shows 195 calls Robert E. Houser, sergeant of the Syracuse Police department, submitted the department activities to the town board for the month of October. The dispatchers report was also included with the departments. The reports are as follows. There were 195 calls answered by the department and the officers covered 5.071 miles during patrol hours. The officers answered 48 courtesy calls and issued three gun permits. There were 12 title checks and seven assists with the fire and ambulancecalls. Officers investigated six public accidents and one private accident, the department also assisted Kosciusko County officers or state police in 12 accidents. Os the six property damage accidents, there were 12 autos involved with the damage amounting to $7,415. The one personal injury accident involved two autos and damage was estimated at $4,500. The department received seven theft reports resulting in the loss of $1,282 and seven vandalism reports with the loss of SSOB. There was one city ordinance complaint and one missing person reported. Police received 20 miscellaneous reports and 10 dog complaints in which two were impounded. There were 10 traffic arrests effected and one misdemeanor and felony arrest. One warning was issued. The regular officers worked 116*2 hours overtime and the reserve officers worked 96* > hours. There was 134*2 hours spent by the reserve officers in service training. Dispatchers Report The Syracuse Fire and Police Disptachers handled 2,214 calls for the month of October. In a break down of those calls for the police department: 253 were handled for the town of Milford; 1,415 for the Syracuse city police and 212 calls for the township. Included in the calls were 171 calls for the city fire department and 114 calls were handled for the township. There were 49 calls handled for the street department and 481 courtesy calls were extended by the dispatchers.
