I LOUISA’S LETTER
Dear Louisa. I am a woman in her seventies and as 1 have no close relatives 1 am thinking of going to a home for elderly people, 1 have been looking at several homes and 1 have finally got the choice down to one of two I have seen. In the first one 1 can have a single room. In the second for the same price 1 would have to share the bedroom but we would have a livingroom and a small kitchenette. 1 would not consider the second idea if it were not for the fact that my companion would be a very good friend of mine and the bedroom is large with twin beds. Do you think this would work out or would it be better to have a single room? Anne-Ind.

Answer: It all depends on your disposition and that of your companion. If you are people who mind your own business and are content to let each other run her own life, you might find such a set up very rewarding. You could help each other in many ways-you could be there in case one of you get sick and. last but not least, you could keep each other from being lonely. But if you are a person who likes to be alone and fill your time with books and television, you may prefer the single room. Louisa. Address: Louisa, Box 532, Orangeburg, S.C. 29115
