Two named to Who's Who
The 1979-80 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges will carry the names of nine students from Warner Southern College, Lake Wales, Fla., who have been selected as being among the county’s most outstanding campus leaders. Among those chosen were Vickie Lynn Casey, daughter of Rev, and Mrs. Brice Casey of the Church of God at North Webster and Rita Kay Shock, daughter-in-law of Joe and Betty Lou Shock, also of the North Webster area Campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory have included the names of these students based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and future potential. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934. 5 2, 125 damages as car hits light A stoplight and pole valued at over $1,600 were knocked off the base early Thursday, Nov. 1. by a car driven by Richard R. Neff, 44. of 630 Front Street, Syracuse. Neff was driving his 1979 Chevy when an unknown vehicle, which had stopped for the light at the corner of SR 13 and Pickwick Road, pulled out in front of him, causing Neff to skid and hit the stoplight pole. The incident, which occurred under slick and rainy conditions, caused $525 damage to Neff’s vehicle.

Brush fire last Thursday A brush fire of unknown origin was reported at 4:59 p.m Thursday, Nov. 1, approximately three miles south of Syracuse on SR 13. The fire, reported by Sandra K.
