Bowen Center recognizes volunteers with ten

The Bowen Center in Warsaw celebrated a Volunteer Recognition Day with a tea for volunteers on October 30 at the center. Highlighting the celebration was an interpretative dance by Sister Agnes Kozla of the Victory Noll Order in Huntington and music by the Treble Clef Barber Shop Quartet. Dr. Ben Knott, director of the center, welcomed and thanked the volunteers for their work during the past year. Chairwoman for the volunteer recognition was Marilyn Bechtel of Kosciusko County. The volunteers of the fivecounty catchment area, which includes Kosciusko, Huntington, Wabash, Whitley and Marshall counties fill a vital need in the Items taken from area homes Two residents of area towns reported items stolen from their properties. A 40-channel CB radio was stolen last Wednesday night or early Thursday morning from Neil Parrell, r 5 Syracuse, Dewart Lake. Lottie Rayl, Kokomo, reported a marine 12-volt battery, battery box, gas can and hose, valued at $94, were taken from a pontoon boat on Webster Lake. The items were stolen sometime between October 7 and October 21. Services has grown rapidly with major involvements in art therapy, inpatient needs, library, partial hospital, volunteer staffing, hair shop and transportation. All five counties now have a transportation system wholly manned and organized by volunteers. This system enables clients to reach the center in Warsaw for therapy sessions.
