Cashbox magazine reports that a survey of its record charts over the last three months show that disco LPs have dropped from 20 per cent of the top 25 album chart to four per cent. The magazine adds that not one new disco act has broken into the upper album charts during that time. Cashbox says the disco well is running dry because it is a music that is suited for clubs, but not for :he record industry. The magazine says that because the music tends to be “monotonous and boring,” it has been unable to develop diverse artists and touring acts.
