113 pints of blood collected at Milford
A total of 119 persons visited the Red Cross Bloodmobile unit, which was set up at the Milford Apostolic 8 Christian Church Fellowship Hall recently. 28 did so for the first time in Kosciusko County. One hundred and thirteen pints of blood were collected. Marlene K. Evans, Milford; Robert L Lantz. Nappanee. Daniel J List. North Webster, and Larry H. Martindale. Syracuse all received their one gallon pins. '*Y A birthday cake honoring Edith Baumgartner, who was celebrating her birthday serving as hostess at the blood visit, was served to the donors and volunteers at the visit. Mrs. Baumgartner, a member of the board of directors for the Kosciusko County Chapter, has worked with the blood service since it started in 1951. Brad Meyers, field representative for the Fort Wayne Regional Blood Center, complimented the Milford area for a good blood visit, stating excellent recruitment of new donors and excellent volunteer coverage made the pre-Labor Day visit a success. Joy Mishler and Elizabeth Tobin, Red Cross township representatives, co-ordinated all arrangements for the visit.
