Band camp next week at Smith-Walbridge
Three-hundred and sixty band members from five states will attend the 27th annual SmithWalbridge Band Camp at Syracuse during the week of August 5-10. The students will audition for assignments in the two high school and two junior high bands The high school bands will be directed by George Cavender, University of Michigan and Lt. Col. Dale Harpham, former director of the U.S Marine Corps Band. This year will be Col. Harpham’s eighth year as conductor of the high school bands.

Robert Miller, Valparaiso High School band director will .share honors with Noel Cross of Griffith, as conductors of the junior high bands. h The final concert on Friday, Aug. 10, will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the junior high bands and followed by the high school bands.
