Farm Safety Week July 25-31

President Carter has proclaimed July 25-31 as National Farm Safety Week and reaffirmed the need for a reduction in the number of accidents and fires that lower production and bring personal loss/to farm and ranch residents. / Co-sponsored by the National Safety Council and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Farm Safety Week was begun in 1944 to help reduce\farm accidents, impairing wartime food and fiber production. The annual rural safety event is supported by many organizations serving agriculture. Evangelist Billy Graham says he believes it was a combination of “sleeping pills and demons” that brought about the Watergate scandab and the downfall of Richard Nixon. Graham, who was interviewed in the April 10th issue of “Esquire Fortnightly” magazine, admits he was completely shocked by the Watergate scandal and Nixon’s language on the White House tapes.

USDA officials urge farm workers to participate in the nationwide observance and strive to attain a safer agricultural community year-round.

Graham is quoted 6y the magazine as saying: “I think it was sleeping pills. Sleeping pills and demons. I think there was definitely demon-power and all through history, drugs and demons have gone together — demons have always worked through drugs. My conclusion is that it was just all those sleeping pills; they just let a demon power come in and play over him.”
