Library sponsoring sale
The North Webster Public Library is sponsoring a paperback and hardback book sale during Festival Week The library will be opened from 4 9 p m. and all persons interested in good book bargains or in seeing the progress made in the new library should stop by. The library is located at the southwest comer of the fairgrounds. Library president. Suzanne Shock, and board member. Dick Long, report the library is progressing rapidly Carpeting has been installed in the building . and lighting and shelving are in the process of being added The library still has some needs including filing cabinets, desks, typewriters and additional bookcases. There is always a need for volunteers to keep it open on a regular basis. Anyone who can assist with any of the needs can contact Mrs. Curtis Shock or Richard Long, s JOINS REALTY FIRM - Charles W. Cable of Syracuse was one of approximately 15.000 Rotarians and their guests from some 100 countries who attended the 70th convention of Rotary International. June 10-13, in Rome. Italy Mr. Cable, a member of the Rotary Club of SyracuseWawasee, was accompanied by his wife, Miriam The convention theme was “Reach Out", representing the Rotary’s concern for the welfare of others. Special presentations and workshops encouraged Rotarians to be more active in helping others in need wijtun their communities and mpromoting international understanding and good will.

Over 1.000 books were unloaded at the librarv. Books were collected by the Kiwanis sponsored Builders Club as its fall service project. The Builders Club will hold a book drive again this fall to collect books for the Syracuse and North V\ ebster libraries. Helping unload the books were Pat Hare. left, and Ken Turner, right. The first half of June has found many of the members of the Wawasee Future Farmers of America very active In addition to the annual state convention, held last week at Purdue University, members have competed in demonstration contests and judging contests State Contests Representing the' local chapter at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the state crops and entomology judging contest wen* Brian Roberts. Adam List. Bill Haab and Ron Pollock, as a team and Raymond Hively. competing as an individual. Hively placed in the blue ribbon division of the state entomology contest The crop judging team finished in the Fisher’s car stolen, found John Fisher, r 2 Milford, discovered his ear had been stolen while he was in an implement store in downtown Milford He reported the theft at 6:15 p.m.. Wednesday, June 20. Marshal Hobbs recovered the stolen vehicle at 10:30 p.in .from in front of an apartment building at the corner of First and Main streets, in Milford, just two blocks from where it was stolen The marshal believed the car was taken for a “joyride. ’’ Stolen trom the car were several eight-track tapes and the gearshift knob. f
