Royal treasure hunt underway at North Webster The' royal treasure hunt is being held during the entire week of the 34th Annual Mermaid Festival, it was announced today by Tom Prichard, vice president of the sponsoring Counting House Bank Each night during the festival at 7 p in. there will be a due as to the location of a SSO treasure within a 2'_- n'lile radius of North Webster. The dues will be given and guesses accepted at the Counting House Bank during the day, and the International Palace oi Sports .Museum during the evening. All guesses must be certified when turned in and the first correct guess* to be certified will win the SSO treasure There is no entry fee and the contest is open to anyone who wishes to guess.
Tournament of Knights began at 1972 festival
The International Palace of Sports Youth Foundation staged . the first annual “Tournament of Knights" in June of 1972. The tournament is a continuance of the "King of Sports" Youth program. The event is in conjunction with the Mermaid Festival and attracts many of the best athletes •KNIGHT OF MENTONE* — Allen Utter, IX, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Utter oi Mentone has entered the annual Tournament of Knights competition at North Webster. liter is a graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School. He is five feet, 10 indies tall, weighs 175 pounds and was selected allstate in football by CPI, AP and the Bloomington HVrald Telephone. He was also on me ;dl--1 conference team in both football i and baseball and was most val--1 liable player in the Triton sectional. He is sponsored by the Mentone Youth League. He plans to attend college this fall.

Areas they compete in are KNIGHT OF MANCHESTER* — Another candidate for the Tournament of Knights crown is Mike Purdy . 17; son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Purdy of North Manchester. He is a graduate of Manchester High School. He is six foot, one inch tall and weighs 155 pounds. Mike was a three-sport letterman. He earned three varsity letters in tennis, three in golf and two in basketball and was most valuable player his junior and senior year in tennis. He will be attending Purdue University in the fall tostudymusiness. Mike is being sponsored by Manchester High School Athletic Department.

He is a graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He is five feet. 10 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds, team Northern Lakes Conference, a member of the Journal Gazette All Area Team. Most Valuable Player ami holder of eight school receiving records. He also received two varsity letters in basketball and baseball. He will be attending Indiana Central to study biology and hopes to teach. Steve is being sponsored by the Warsaw High School Athletic Department.

Frisbee tourney set for Friday
The International Palace ot Sports will again sponsor a frisbee tournament on Friday, June 29. at 7 p.m during the 34th annual Mermaid Festival The event w ill be held on the Palace ot Sports lawn with competition for two age divisions: 13 years old and under, and 14 years old and over
Trophies-, will be awarded for both first and second place finishes in each division There is no entry lee for the event and registration will begin at 6:30 pm Following the tournament there will be a frisbee throw during>vhich 25 free frisbees w ill be given away.
