Get The Family Together For Fun ‘n’ Games ‘n’ Health
While no one has yet coined the phrase, “The family that plays together, stays together,” health experts are encouraging families to participate in exercise activities together. Not only will each member benefit from the exercise involved, they note, such activities will also serve to bring family members closer to each other. Children, normally active, can set a good example for parents when it comes to physical fitness: one housewife, for instance, began to copy her energetic daughter's motions in play and found it a great way to get exercise and to spend time with her youngster, as well! There are many activities that families can enjoy together while they work out. Running is an obvious option — it’s easy enough for both youngsters and “oldsters” and doesn’t require expensive equipment. (Physical fitness experts recommend, however, that children should jog only for fun, and not be involved in serious, or long-distance, racing.) Just choose a scenic spot such as a favorite park or a country lane, Mom and Dad, and run alongside the youngsters for good fun and good health. Bicycling is another activity that many families can enjoy together. You might all bike together to a nearby park and enjoy a family picnic there, for example. When planning family vacations, consider the many possibilities for physical activities: a trip by car can include a hiking excursion at a national park ... a vacation out West can include an afternoon of horseback riding for the whole family ... a stay at the seashore can mean family jogs along the beach. You might even plan an entire vacation around some My friend, the things that do attain The happy life be these, I find: ° The riches left, not got with pain; The fruitful ground, the quiet mind; The equal friend, no grudge, no strife; No charge of rule or » governance; Without disease the hfealthy life; The household of continuance. — Henry Howard
kind of family activity. There are many organizations such as the Sierra Club and the National Wildlife Federation that sponsor programs designed to help families enjoy various outdoor activities, for instance. Or, if you’re into tennis, check whether the nearest tennis camp can accommodate the whole family Jor a week of improving or learning the game. Whether during a weekend outing or a week of activities, exercising together can benefit your family both physically and emotionally, according to the experts.
