Beer — (Continued from page 14) Mary Married to Carl Fiechter, a farmer in Bluffton, she and her husband have five children: Don. his wife Sue and daughter Heidi; Rick, his wife Beth and Todd; James and Lynn, who are both single; and daughter Ann. married to Kris Frauhiger. Fourth daughter and fifth child. Becky, is married to Arnold Doll, and is owner of Doll s Decorating in Milford They have three sons with Dan presently enrolled at the University of Georgia in Athens. Ga. working on his PhD in bio-chemistry Dave is married to the former Bobbie Bowser and works in the maintenance department at Dalton Foundry in Warsaw. Dick is a student at' Milford Junior High. Second son and sixth child is Alan, who is the only Beer child to pursue advanced education. Dr. Alan Beer, his wife Dorothy, and their four children. Michael and Betsy in high school and Margaret and Laura in junior high, are in the process of moving from Dallas, Texas, to Ann Arbor. Mich. Dr. Beer will be chairman and professor heading the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the new university hospital on the University of Michigan campus He had been associate professor of cell biology. obstetrics and gynocology at Southwest University in Dallas for eight years. The youngest member of the Beer tribe is Bernie. He is coowner of McCormick Motors in Nappanne He and his wife Peg have three sons. Brad and Todd who attend Northwood High School and Kirk who is a junior high student Since 1912 when Rev Beer and his parents moved from Mansfield. Ohio, to Milford, the Beer tradition of "honesty and hard work" has continued to thrive. Beer has given many sermons from as minister of the Apostolic Christian Church in Milford. The pulpit was built by Rev. Beer’s grandson. Ted Speicher, in honor of his grandfather’s 50 years of service to the church. The gift was presented to Rev. Beer last Christmas and will soon be placed in the fellowship hall of the Apostolic Church.

Maple Leaf truck overturns on SR 15 A1975 tractor trailer registered to Maple Leaf Farms. Milford, overturned 1' 2 miles south of the Kosciusko County line on SR 15 at 6:20 a m. Thursday. Driving the tractor trailer was Palmer L. Stanbaugh, 23, r 5 Warsaw. He was treated and released from Wabash County Hospital. State police at the Peru post reported Stanbaugh s rig headed towards a ditch and overturned while attempting to avoid hitting vehicles in front of him. He was northbound and following a car and pick up truck when the truck made a left turn onto a farm road. The car slowed down but the rig could not stop in time and went into the ditch to avoid a collision. The tractor trailer was loaded with ducks and it is estimated one-third to one-half of 1,500 ducks were killed. Damage to the truck was set at SI,OOO. Syracuse EMS gives May report The Syracuse Emergency Medical Service report for the month of May shows 18 persons transported to Goshen Hospital, one to Kosciusko Community Hospital, two to Elkhart and 15 non-transports for a total of 36 calls. There were 21 ambulance calls in the town of Syracuse; 12 township calls; and one call in another township, for a total of 36 ambulance calls. Miles traveled on the town calls totaled 565 and 287 miles were traveled to the hospitals. Township, mileage to calls was 340 to the scene and 188 miles to the hospitals. On the non transport calls the total was 23 miles. The average time involved for the month was 32 hours and the average time per call was 53 minutes.

BLAST RESULTS — Milford firefighter Ron Smith guards the east wall of the home owned by Lucy Miller near Milford Junction, which was blown out by the igniting of a gas leak. A Milford youth. Brian Parks, seven, was seriously burned as he was in this part of the home when the blast occurred.

A faulty hot water heater gas leak is being blamed for a flash fire that seriously injured a Milford boy last Thursday near Milford junction. The home is owned by Lucy Miller. Milford Fire Chief Bill Leemon theorized that when the home s water pump kicked in an electrical spark was produced igniting the gas that created the flash fire and subsequent explosion. The injured youth. Brian Wilson, seven, son of Keith and Ilene Wilson, r 1 box 221 B Milford, suffered second and third degree burns over 50 per cent of his body. He was transferred to Goshen General Hospital by Milford EMS and then transported to Saint Joseph's Hospital. South Bend, and admitted to the hospital's

The boy was in the bathroom at the time of the explosion, which originated in the basement and traveled up the stairs directly into the bathroom. The east wall of the bathroom was blown out due to the force of the blast Other structural damages include the jamming of the front door, damaged wiring and seared walls When fireman arrived at the scene they found no fire, just seared walls. daughter. Lucille., hurt her back carrying Brian to a neighbor's home The other occupant. Vicky Parks, had no injuries. Damage to the house was estimated at S6.(XX) with the structure being insured.
