A new floor has°been poured in the basement at the parsonage. New carpet is to be laid in the kitchen and a new stove installed. Plans are also underway to remodel and improve the church office to make the work for the new pastor. Paul Fulp. more pleasant. —O'SPEAKING OF the V.MAchurch, an Allied van came to load the possessions of Everett and Doris Owens on May 17. Their furniture is now in their newly purchased home in Fort Wayne and they admit not everything is “in place” yet. The reason, the Owens are still in Milford. They, are staying with Mrs. Herbert (Edith) Baumgartner in order to fulfill their obligation to the Milford congregation. Sunday will be Rev. Owens last Sunday in the pulpit. —oDr. ALAN and Dorothy Beer are in the process of moving from their Dallas. Texas, home to their new home at 350 Huntington Drive. Ann Arbor, Mich. For the past eight years Dr. Al, the son of Theo and Naomi Beer, has been associate professor of cell biology and obstetrics and gynocology at Southwestern University at Dallas. He will now be chairman and professor heading the department of obstetrics and gynocology at the new university hospital at Ann Arbor. According to proud father Theo, the handsome Beer family bought an old property which has infinite possibilities for restoration and has been busv making it into its future home. Syracuse alumni banquet held last Saturday eve

Approximately 155 persons attended the Syracuse High School alumni banquet held Saturday, May 26, at Syracuse Junior High School. The social hour was from 6-7 p.m. and was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Searfoss. Ralph Bushong gave the invocation. Dinner was served at 7 p.m. Following was a business meeting presided over by Paul Isbell, president of the alumni association. Minutes from last year’s meeting were read by Charmaine Egolf, recording secretary and the treasurer’s report was given by Mrs. R. C. Tytler. Doll took her paint brush and wallpaper tools and spent a week end there helping get.the place in shape, and nephew Ted Speicher, in the cabinet business with his father-in-law at Nappanee, put in a complete new kitchen in the Beers' Ann Arbor home. Dr. Al was featured speaker at the Milford . Area Development Council’s Citizen of the Year banquet in February. —o— GIRLS AND convertibles were a big part of the Memorial Day parade in Milford this year. Shown in this column are two of the three girls who rode down the parade route in convertibles, the third young Miss, Amy Speicher, is pictured on the MAD Day photo page located elsewhere in this issue. One of the lovely young lasses is Kimberly Coy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Coy. Kim is Milford's Girls’ State Representative this year. The other young lady is Rachel Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morris. Rachel is "Miss Milford" and will represent the Lions Club in the Mermaid Festival’s “Queen of Lakes” contest next month. -OWE’RE GOING to have a new law office in Milford! Milo W.
