Former area pastor plans Holy Land Peace Tour in fall

Rev. Thomas' Douglas and his wife, Betty, of Indianapolis, formerly of Syracuse, will be hosting their seventh Inspiringly Different” Holy Land Holiday Tour beginning November 26. The Douglases returned in February from an a 11-Israel Tour and by popular demand have scheduled a “Peace Tour" for November which will be an 11day tour of Israel and Egypt. This tour should be able to fly directly from Israel to Cairo, something which has not been possible in the past. In Israel the tour will visit the city of Ceasarea Haifa, foifavisit to the cave of Elijah; then on to Migiddo. Nazareth. Cana and the Sea of Galilee. After a meal of Saint Peter’s fish, overlooking the sea, a boat ride will move the tour to Capernaum There will be a visit to the Mount of Multiplication where Christ fed the multitude and on to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus gave the famous Sermon on the Mount A Kibbutz will be visited and the group will spend the night there. The next day there will be time for a drink from Jacob s well and

The trip to the ruins of Jericho will be climaxed with a drink from Elisha’s spring. On the way to Masada to visit the place where the Jews made their last stand against Rome, there will be stops at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and an opportunity to wade in the Dead Sea. On To Cairo Then, it’s on to Cairo where the group will visit the Land of Goshen and the pyramids where were already 2.500 years old when viewed by Joseph. Mary and Jesus. The tour of the museum where King Tut’s treasurers are preserved will turn back the pages of history for thousands of years. There will be opportunities to ride a camel and take a sail boat trip on the Nile River. The Peace Tour will allow persons to visit a part of the world that has more interests for heads of state and the entire population of the world than any other place known to man.

'Feed My Sheep' special day at Christian Church June 3

A special event is being planned for Sunday, June 3, at the Milford Christian Church. “Feed My Sheep" is the theme for the day which will serve as preregistration day for the church’s Vacation Bible School. VBS, under the direction of Carole Moore will be held June 11-15 from9a.m. until 11:30a.m On June 3 lunch will be served at the noon hour and games and prizes will be featured during the afternoon hours along with the pre-registration The theme. "Feed My Sheep," was chosen because of the Bible school lessons which are based on the theme, "Jesus, I'm His. . . He’s Mine," from Standard Publishing. These are Biblebased lessons which will be taught with excitement and variety involved through such activities as songs, Bible study, interesting visual demonstrations, classroom interaction, crafts and many other innovative methods which keep with the theme. A special guest of the VBS will be “Fluffy," a loveable little lamb.
