Lilly was once a prominent member of the club. For the last two years the winner has been George Buckingham, Goshen.

Regatta Along with these races, the club will be sponsoring the Hoosier Regatta in the middle of June. The Regatta will celebrate its 25th year of running on June 9-10. Approximately 40-50 boats are expected to compete, 10 of which will be from the Yacht Club. Most of the boats expected will be from Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and a few from Wisconsin. The Indiana District Championship will be held on Lake Monroe, June 16-17.
Also the North American Championship will be at Cleveland, Ohio, in midAugust. All racing for the club is on the north end of Lake Wawasee on a triangular course made up of three legs. Each leg is four miles long. Schmahl said this year they have 27 families from Goshen; Fort Wayne; Chicago and Evanston, Ill.; Kendalville; Indianapolis; Peru; and North Manchester. New members this year are Mr. and Mrs. Ron Cloepfer, M.D., Fort Wayne. The club owns property on the west end of the lake which has grown over the years. The first land was purchased in 1939. A clubhouse, featuring sleeping and cooking facilities, is provided for members. Also available is docking space. There are no formal monthly meetings and often business is done on the week end when members are together for a race. A mid-summer and mid-winter meeting is, however, scheduled each year. Other officers in the club include; Vice commodore — Richard Borger, Fort Wayne Treasurer — George Wright, Fort Wayne Secretary — Keith Swyhart, Goshen Jogging is good exercise Jogging is one of America's favorite past times, it’s good exercise and can provide good therapy to ease tension.
