Swimming is also permitted at Hoy’s Landing, east end of Henry Street, Syracuse; Waco Beach, Oakwood Park or the beach near the fish hatchery on Lake Wawasee. cook-outs. A natural barrier from the sun is provided by the tall trees which shade the picnic area of the park. Waubee Lake Park features a beach house in which to change into a bathing suit. There are also public restroom facilities. Syracuse City Park is located on W. E. Long Drive, Syracuse. There are picnic tables available, swings and a merry-go-round and the beach which is the main feature at the lake side park. Both beach parks have lifeguards on duty until about 6 p.m. each day. The lifeguards, in recent years, have been provided through the Wawasee High School Summer Swim Program. Even though the lifeguards leave the beaches at 6 p.m., the parks officially remain open until about 10 p.m.
