Kosciusko Community Hospital has been awarded the certificate of accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital according to L. Milton Holmgrain, administrator. The two-year accreditation became effective on January 10. The accreditation was achieved following a thorough survey of the hospital by a professional survey team of the Joint Commissions Hospital Accreditation Program. The hospital was evaluated oil the basis of information gained from questionnaires, other documentation, and an on-site visit, which includes conferences with professional staff, service chief, and members of the governing body of the Hospital. The accreditation means that Kosciusko Community Hospital has voluntarily chosen to be measured by the standards developed by the Joint Com mission and has been found to be in compliance with them. These standards, published in the “Accreditation Manual for Hospitals,” set forth optimal achievable goals of excellence as a measure for evaluation by both the hospital and the Joint Commission. Soviets make big $ on Olympics
If you're thinking of going to Moscow for the 1980 Olympics, think again. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Russians are demanding that each visitor post a deposit of SLSSO months in advance the games. And for this, they are guaranteeing nothing They won t say if the $1,550 will cover the entire cost, nor will they assure depositors of a seat on a specific airline, or a room in a specific hotel-, or any particular number and type of Olympic tickets. The games are to last 16 days. However, Americans attending them will be permitted to stay in Moscow in most cases only five days. The other 11 they will have to spend in Leningrad and Kiev, watching such soul-stirring events as the preliminary soccer matches. E. Wallace Lawrence, president of the Russian Travel Bureau, which is representing the Soviet government in making arrangements to attend the games, says the Russians so tar have agreed to make available 1.7 Olympic events tickets per day to each American tourist, if they can. * This means the American will be able to watch exactly seven events during his stay in Moscow and take home one-half of a ticket as a souvenir. To those complaining, the IOC has replied: “Address your comments to the US Olympic Committee.” The USOC has said. Complain to the Russian Travel Bureau. Return of the buzzards Like the swallows ot Capistrano, the buzzards of Hinckley once again returned home to roost in the small Ohio town. Captain Del Rambo of the Hinckley Sheriff's Office, reports there are some 3,000 people this year who witnessed the annual return of some 20 or so buzzards, with the head buzzard arriving as predicted on Friday, March 16. As legend goes, sometime in the early 1800's, there was a great hunt that took place in Ohio and all of the wild animals were driven into the woods at Hinckley and slaughtered. The buzzards decended upon their carcasses and found good pickings and Captain Rambo reports they have been coming back ever since.
