It appears likely the acquisition of Tommy John (a dead ringer for Robert Stack of Elliot Ness fame) was the key move to bring the New York Yankees their third pennant, and possibly third world title. With Ron Guidry and Tommy John, the Yanks now have just about the best twosome going in the pitching department. And to back them up are four or five other solid moundsmen on this season’s Yankee squad. The Yanks, of course, are playing in a tough league. Boston. Booster signs being sold Syracuse Little League Boosters are currently selling 4xß advertising signs to interested individuals and businesses in the area who desire to support the Little League. The signs are being sold for the outfield fence at the Little League Park. The proceeds will be used to purchase the new lighting system for the park north of town. The boosters have a goal of SB,OOO from this project. All interested persons should contact Sam Fryback who is in charge of sign sales for further information.
