Home fire hazards a concern

The Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Club members got a lesson in how to prevent home fires at their Tuesday noon luncheon meeting when Sue Creighton pointed to four areas of general concern Mrs. Creighton is associated with the United Telephone Co and is president of her company 's speakers’ bureau. She is a certified professional secretary, an officer in their Employees’ Federal Credit Union and past president of the local chapter of the National Secretaries' Association. •‘Nationally, more than 12.000 people lost their lives in home fires last year." she said, adding, “and that's three-fourths the population of the city of W arsaw. Seven- thousand fires occur everv day. or one every 46 seconds. .. She said the Warsaw fire department answered 249 fire calls last year, in which there was $558,555 damages, adding.

A two-car accident occurred Sunday, April 22. at 5:19 p.m. at the intersection of CR 1200 N and SR 13 near Syracuse, in which five persons were injured and transported to Goshen Hospital.
