Many area churches will be having special services during this week for Easter. The following are a list of services in the area. At Milford A community Good Friday service will be held in the Milford United Methodist Church from 12:30 p.m. Speakers and topics for this service will be Nelda Rhodes, “Trial of Jesus;” Robert Greenwood, “As Jesus Carried His Cross;” and Orville “Fritz" Kilmer, “Crucifixion of Christ. " When he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and resumed his place, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? ... "

will have a communion service on Maundy Thursday. On Easter morning there will be a sunrise service play at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast served by the men. The Apostolic Christian Church will have a sunrise service at 6:30 am. Easter morning in the fellowship hall. The Milford United Methodist Church will have a communion supper at 6:30 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, with Island Chapel and Concord United Methodist Churches as guests. Following the supper, communion will be held On Easter morning a sunrise service will be held at 7 a m. with the Methodist Men serving breakfast. Members of the Milford First Brethren Church will observe the threefold communion service beginning at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Wednesday). On Easter morning at 7 a m. a sunrise service will be held follow ed by breakfast at 8 a m. The morning message will be entitled ‘‘How to Get to

On Good Friday at 7 p.m. there will be a union Good Friday drama in the Missionary Churchy New Paris. The Biblical drama “The Light is Too Dark” will be presented by the Genesians, a drama group from Bethel College. On Easter Sunday, sunrise services will start at 6:30 a m. with a combined choir presentation, presenting an Easter contata and breakfast will be served following the services. Candlelight communion services will be held at the Milford Christian Church on Thursday at 7 p.m. All services on Sunday will focus on the risen saviour. 6:30a.m. on Easter morning with breakfast following. Also on Easter Sunday there will be an Easter Egg hunt for the elementary children. The Bible Christian Church will be having an Easter service for those at the Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, at 3 p.m. Easter Sunday. That evening, members will participate in a communion service at 6 p.m. At Syracuse Community services will be held in the Church of the Brethren for Good Friday, at 1 p.m. Community services will also be held in the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel for a sunrise service at 6:30 am. Easter morning. Rev. Paul Steele will bring the message for the Community Good Friday service, April 13. Rev. John McFarland of the Syracuse Church of the Brethren will be the featured speaker for the Easter Sunrise Service. Combined choirs of the Calvary and Saint Andrews United Methodist Churches will give special music. Both services are sponsored by the SyracuseWawasee Ministerial Association and all persons are invited to join in the worship and fellowship. . . ."Crucify him, crucify him!" William E. Master, a former Syracuse resident and pastor from Anderson. Mo., will be guest speaker on Easter Sunday in the Syracuse Church of the Nazarene. Master has been the guest speaker since Palm Sunday. April 8, for revival services. On Maundy Thursday, members of the Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church will take part in the Eucharist and Priesthood. Good Friday services will also be held in the church on April 13. Easter Sunday at 7 p.m. there will be a vigil mass for the celebration of baptism and resurrection. The Calvary United Methodist Church will have Holy communion on Maundy Thursday. On Easter morning at the regular 10:40 service the confirmation class will be singing. Following the community service in Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, breakfast will be served. During the worship service at 10 a.m. the choir will present “It took a Miracle” by John W. Peterson.

At Wawasee Heights Baptist Church on Easter Sunday there will be a breakfast’at 7:30 p.m. formembers. “The Three Nails.” a passion play, will be presented in the Syracuse United Pentecostal Church’s evening service at 6:30 p.m. AU actors will be in full costume. Maundy Thursday worship for the Lakeland area Lutheran Churches will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church, Cromwell. This will be a service of Holy communion, commorating the Lord’s Supper. Easter Sunday schedule for the Lutheran Churches will be: at 6 a.m. there will be a sunrise service at Grace Lutheran, , Syracuse; 7 a m. a Parish Easter Breakfast,’ also at ’ Grace Lutheran, serving until 9 a.m.; and the 10 a m. worship will be at Calvary Lutheran, with a celebration of the resurrection with Holy Communion. Syracuse Church of The Brethren will be having a love feast at 7 p.m. on Maundy Thursday. The Community Good Friday services will be in the church from 1-2 p.m. On Saturday at 8:30 a m. there will be a school of prayer breakfast. The sunrise service will be held with the community at Wawasee Lakeside at 6:30 a.m. Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church will be reenacting the last supper on Maundy Thursday. The evening will start in the church sanctuary, then members and friends will proceed to the fellowship room for communion. The choir will be providing music along with Mrs. Phil Frew. Now on the first day of the week Mary Mag'dalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. A passion play entitled, “A Man of Sorrows.” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 13, at the Zion Chapel UB Church south of Syracuse. On Saturday, April 14, a Ken Anderson film entitled “3” will be shown A sunrise Service will be held at 7 a.m. The youth of the church will be in charge of this service. A musical group from Huntington College will be there. A light snack will be provided following the service. . . . But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb . . . she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom do you seek?" Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher). Sunday at 9 a.m. Sunday School will be held for all ages with the lesson being taken from I Corinthians 15:12-28. Morning worship services will be held at 10 a.m. There will be special music presented by different members of the church, the presentation of the self-denial offerings will be made and the Easter message will be given by the pastor. MINISTER N AMED Rev. Paul Fulk, associate minister at the United Methodist Church in Bluffton, has been named the new minister at the Milford United Methodist Church. Rev. Fulk will take over the duties at the church on June 1 when current minister Rev. Everett Owens retires.

The Spring Rally for the Syracuse Church of God WCSC will be in the Fairview Church. Zainville. This was announced at the WCSC meeting recently with Pauline Firestone hostess. Other upcoming events will be thank offering Sunday on May 6 and a sacrifical breakfast in the fellowship hall on April 14 at 8 a.m. The meeting was opened by Betty Kern with an article on “Worry” and Gw;en Williams gave prayer requests.
