Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Bailey will celebrate their wedding anniversay on Sunday while Christy Beer. Tom Campbell. April May and Don Curry were all April Fool babies. Mr. and Mrs. Graham Meier and Mr. and Mrs* Ted Brooks will celebrate wedding anniversaries on April 2 while Bobbi and Becki Haab, Orris Flannery, Jeri Rink and Cheryl Brunjes will observe their birthdays on that date. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wuthrieh were married on April 3 and Sharon Bohnstedt was born on April 4. —o— THE ANNUAL kindergarten round-up will be held April 10 at 7 p.m. in the Milford Elementary School. Parents and children who will attend kindergarten next year are urged to attend. —o— LLOYD COY and Bill Troup, both residents of Waubee Lake, reported seeing the ice go off the lake early Saturday morning. Coy, superintendent at The M-J printing plant, said he was standing on the end of his pier ‘ at exactly five o’clock,’’ before going into Milford to work and saw the remaining ice “sizzle past my place. ” He said this is something he keeps track of and noted that the ice disappeared “about a week earlier than usual this year.” -0MILFORD’S BARTH Corporation will co-sponsor the Hoosier Classic golf tournament at the Plymouth Country Club, know n as the LPGA, coming up in mid-April. Look for more details on this later. —o— DEAN COUSINS, Jefferson Township farmer, exercised his well known sense of humor when he responded to a querry about why he wasn’t in the Washington farm price protest. “I would have been,” he said, “but my tractor wouldn’t start.” —o— DORIS HARTTER, director of nurses at the Kosciusko Community Hospital, has informed her superiors at the hospital that she plans to leave in mid-summer to begin studies at the Indiana University campus at Bloomington on her master’s degree. She has been director of nurses since the hospital opened in June of 1976, and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hartter of r I Milford. —o— DONATIONS CONTINUE to be reported for the coming EMS bazaar. Kenneth Haney is donating 75 pounds of fresh sausage for the Kiwanis Club’s pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday. And, that’s not all. Bob and Howard Beer are each donating a hog for sausage for the breakfast. February report given by police F Sergeant Robert L. Meeks, District Commander, Indiana Stale Police, at Ligonier announced the following activities for the month of February in Kosciusko County: Officers worked 573 hours and drove 10,195 miles on state and county roads. These officers investigated 18 accidents and effected 108 arrests. There were 47 motorists assisted and 86 warnings issued. Kosciusko County is staffed by four troopers and one sergeant. Ligonier district serves the six northeastern counties of the state. Units assigned to Ligonier conducted 62 criminal investigations, resulting in the arrests of 41 persons. There were no fatal accidents in Kosciusko County in 1979, as compared to the same period of 1978 when three persons were fatally injured on state and county roads; this is a decrease of three persons. District wide in the six counties, two persons have lost their lives in 1979, as compared to 11 persons in 1978, a decrease of nine persons. The activity reports by the scales installation at district 21 show there were 113 arrests, 70 warnings and 39 police services. Pumps damaged Gas pumps at the Arco Service Station, SR 15 Leesburg, were damaged in a mishap last Wednesday. An auto, driven by Cheryl E. Brookins, 18, Shamrock Trailer Ct., r 7 Warsaw, bumped into the gas pumps as it pulled into the station. Damage was estimated at SSO to the Brookins vehicle. Can anyone remember when the taxpayer had nothing to pay but a small tax on his property?
