*•**:- Mi kl B , PRESENTS REPORT — Sergeant Louis Mediano and Patrolman Dan Gallmeier of the Syracuse Police Department presented a year-to-date report to the Wawasee Kiwanis Club last Saturday. In the report were statistics concerning traffic violations, accidents, vandalisms and arrests. Outstanding on the list were the number of solved burglaries since the first of the year. . Gallmeier stated the pubilc is seeing more reserves on patrol so that officers can work cases to ease the amount of overtime. This was due4o the fact that the department has been one man short since the beginning of 1979 when Ron Robinson became captain of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. Sergeant Mediano answered questions concerning the impounding of IB dogs last w eek in the Syracuse area. Shown with Mediano and Gallmeier is Jack Francis. Wawasee Kiwanis secretary.
Energy crisis applications available from Red Cross
Persons seeking applications for energy crisis reinbursement must contact the Kosciusko County Red Cross. Persons seeking help must have less than seven days supply of fuel and be able to varify it or have received a shut-off notice from the public service company. Income levels too are a factor and must be varified. Persons receiving social security or disability checks should take their checks or copies of them to the Red Cross office. Final RIF distribution set at schools Friday
The Lakeland Community Elementary Schools are preparing for their third and final Reading Is Fundamental distribution. Students in grades one through five will have a chance to select a book from a wide varity of materials appropriate to their grade level. New Paris Silo moves across road New Paris Silo and Equipment Company recently moved from the east side of SR 15 to the building complex for the pool division on the west side of SR 15. The building the company has moved into was used for its swimming pool business. This has been moved to South Bend, with a retail outlet staying in New Paris. According to lan McGahan, sales manager, the 25-year-old building, formerly used by the company, will be sold. The new building will handle the agricultural side of the business and the construction crews for the pool division. The agricultural part of the business covers silo’s liquid manure pits and dairy .milking parlors internal fittings.

Books are reviewed and selected by a committee in each school. The committee is composed equally of parents and teachers. The goal of the book selection committee is to ensure a wide selection of titles based on the particular characteristics and interests of the childrdfi in the community.

March 23 Milford women advised someone hit her car last night and took off, advised her to call officer at home.
