Syracuse man booked for forgery of prescription

A Syracuse man, Peter Phillip Marshall, 25, 306 Benton Street, was booked at the Kosciusko County jail on Saturday on a charge of attempting tfo obtain a controlled substance under false pretenses. He was released after posting a SI,OOO bond. Marshall, an orderly in the emergency room of Kosciusko Community Hospital, allegedly forged a prescription last month for valium with the signature, also allegedly forged, of Thomas J. Miller. M.D., of South Bend. The doctor works at the Warsaw facility on a part-time basis. The forgery came to light as a nurse told Warsaw city police a letter was returned to the hospital, bearing the hospital return address. When opening the Parked car hit Charles Edgar of Syracuse reported to police Monday morning at 7:35 a m. of his 1975 Oldsmobile being hit sometime during the night in the parking lot at the Frog Tavern. Damage by Syracuse officers was estimated at $450 to the left front door, front bumper area, grill and hood panel. qr

Webster man sentenced for resisting arrest

A North Webster man, 24-year-old Curtis Ryan Eby, was sentenced in Kosciusko County Court last Wednesday afternoon to serve six months at the state farm for resisting arrest.
